Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama: Dear SrI VaishNavas, I found the following remarks which looks assertive in a posting that appreared today in various lists. Many people have written to me that it is confusing. That remark is: > Gayathri Manthram is another powerful manthram for > worshipping/meditating Gayathri Devi during SandhyAs . The gAyatri mantram that is in japam for dvijas in sandhyAvandanams is NOT for worshipping/meditating any devatAntaram or any devi etc. It is only for directly worshipping/meditating SrIman nArAyaNan. swAmi dESika himself has ascertained that this gAyatri mantram is only denoting SrIman nArAyaNan. The mantra artham is explained by swAmi SrImath azagiya singar in the Aahnika grantam. I request all of you to read the divine SrI sUktis of swAmi SrImath azagiya singar to understand the gAyatri mantra significance. Please get the meaning of the same from ubhaya vEdAnta vidwAns in person. Even the term sandhyA was explained by me following our pUrvAchArya Aahnika grantams as VishNu-param in a mail some time ago. In the sandhyAvandanams that we do daily three times, there is absolutely no dEvatAntara sambhandam in any form. Therefore, doing vaidika nitya-naimittika karmas as per individual's dharma (which is prescribed in smrutis like manu-smruti) is a must as per SAstra and our pUrvAchArya SrI sUktis and in these there is nothing against prapatti-nishTa. Thanks & Regards naidhruva mAdabhUshi S. HARI rAmAnuja dAsan (mshari)
