Guest guest
Sri: SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha, Translation by U.Ve. Dr. V.N. Vedanta Desikan Swamin: 755. thatthAdhrushA nijabalEna nirUDakIrthi: shEShasthavaIba pariNAmavishESha ESha: rAmENa sathyavachasA yadhananyavAhyAm vODum purA vasumathIm BhavathI niyukthA Oh Paaduka! It is obvious that famous, mighty, Adisesha upholding the Earth from below is only an incarnation of yourself. Only because of this, the great Truth-adherent, that Rama is, loaded You with the responsibility of running the government of the nation, when he was proceeding to the forest. Namo Narayana, SriMuralidhara Dasan Special Notes by V.Sadagopan (V.S): SlOkam 755 1)UtthamUr Swamy: In the previous verse, Swamy Desikan pointed out that PaathALa sEshan chose his strength (Bhalam ) over his intellect (Jn~Anam) to render service to Bhumi Devi in carrying the load of the Lord's weight. Here, Swamy continues with that thought. He says: " PaathALa sEshan and PaadhukAs have equal strength . Raamachandra of unfailing words knew very well of that strength of the PaadhukAs and ordered them to bear the unbearable burden of carrying Raajya Lakshmi during His absence from the Kingdom of AyOdhyA. 2) SrImath Andavan's anubhavam: Oh PaadhukE! Are You the incarnation of AdhisEshA or AdhisEshA Your incarnation? Is He superior to You or are You superior to Him ? Such doubts arise! Based on some reasons , it is clear that You are superior to AdhisEshan. When Raamachandran left for the forest , BhUmi did not have the right king. Then the Lord appointed You to rule over AyOdhyA as king. He did not appoint AdhisEshan. 3)AdhisEshan is known for His valour (yEsha sEsha: nija BalEna nirooDa keerthi: ). He is indeed Your avathAram ( yEsha sesha: Tava pariNAmavisEsha yEva). However , the Lord ,who is sathyavAthi assigned You to lift and hold the Earth , which is not easy to lift and keep during the time of His departure for the forest ( SathyavachasA RaamENa ananyavAhyAm Vasunatheem vODum purA bhavathee niyukthA)..(V.S).
