onRiraNdu moorththiyaa

yuRakkamOdu Narchchiyaay,

onRiraNdu kaalamaagi

vElaiNYaala maayinaay,

onRiraNdu theeyumaagi

yaayanaaya maayanE

onRiraNdu kaNNinunu

munnaiyEththa vallanE? (7)

 

Oh GopAlA! Most wonderful- most mysterious Lord!

[AscharyabhUthanE! maayanE!] You are the One who is

VishNu; and the antharAthmA of BrahmA and Rudran! You

are the nirvAhakan (director) of night and day- sleep

and wake states; You are the One – antharAthmA for

present, past and future times; antharAthmA for

oceans; the Universe; for the three fire groomed by

VaidIkAs; Oh gopAlA! Can even that Rudran (the three

eyed one) be able to praise You fully describing Your

glories? {Never. He can not].

 

You are not only VishNu mUrthy. You are the

antharAhtmA (the indweller) of BrahmA-four faced one

and Rudran, the three eyed one. Hence You are them as

well. Due to Your grace only, Sivan gets Your

anugraham. You are the cause for sleep state and

waking state. They are under the control of Naandhakam

and its cover – the two NithyasUris- in whose hearts

Sriman Narayanan resides as the indweller. Thus,

jnAnam and anjnAnam (knowledge and ignorance) are also

due to your grace and are under Your control. The

cause behind them i.e. night and day – namely moon and

the sun are also under Your control- where is the

doubt in that? Thus, the five material elements

(pancha bhUthAs), the Sun, the moon and the agni

sported in yaagam- i.e. the eight mUrthys are all

under your control and Your servants. You are the

viswarUpan. Sivan is merely an ashtamUrthy- who is

granted by You to control whatever he is assigned to.

You are the ascharya bhUthan- maayan- ViswarUpan.

sarvEshwaran.

 

onRiraNdu kaalamaagi- present, past and future; It may

also mean; the time when Sattva guNA is at its peak;

the time when rajO guNam holds good; the time when

thamasa guNA is at its peak.

 

onRu iraNdu theeyum aagi- gaarhapathyam is the main

one from which other fires emanate.

 

GopAla- the Kutti KaNNan and KrishnAvathAram is

mentioned. Even about that simple Cowherd Boy, that

three eyed one- Rudran can not praise.. How and why?

Where is it proved?

 

It happened during KrishNAvathAram. Usha, the daughter

of BaNAsuran, fell in love with Aniruddhan, who was a

grand son of Sri Krishna. She sought the help of

ChithralEkha, her friend for arranging to meet

Aniruddhan. Chithralekha through her powers of

meditation brought Aniruddhan and left him with Usha.

BaNAsura heard the same and came to fight with

Aniruddhan. BaaNan who was not able to put a

resistance to Aniruddhan launched a missile known as

Naagaasthra and tied down Aniruddhan. Krishna who came

to know of this through Sage Narada came to city along

with His army to crush BaaNan. To assist BaaNan.

Sivan, Subramanya, Vinayaka came and fought with

KaNNan. KaNNan chased away all of them and cut off the

1000 shoulders of asurA and felled them with His

chakrA (Divine Discuss). At the request of Sivan

(later), KaNNan let BANAsuran off without killing.

Just remembering that, one can realize Your greatness

and Supremacy above everyone. Than oppArilappan.

(Unparalleled One). oppAr mikkAr illAdha maamaayan.
