SrImathE Ramanujaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

In the last PAsuram, the sthithi kaaraNathvam was

described. Now AzhwAr addresses perumAl – the

SarvEshwaran is the srushti, samhAra kaaraNan (cause

of birth and deaths of those responsible namely BrahmA

and Rudran for action of srushti samhAram, (birth and

deaths of everyone else by being their antharyaami and

He is also the antharyaami of the Time (Kaala

tattvam). He says: even those who are above Rudran can

not see Him fully

aathiyaana vaanavarkku

maNdamaaya vappuRaththu,

aathiyaana vaanavarkku

maathiyaana vaathin^ee,

aathiyaana vaanavaaNa

ranthakaalam neeyuraiththi,

aathiyaana kaalan^innai

yaavar_kaaNa vallarE? (8)

On Lord- who is the Prime Cause and Primordial Chief

of everything! Who is capable of seeing You fully? You

are the cause of swarUpa, sthithi pravrtthi of those

eternal nithyasUris at Paramapadham beyond this

Universe – Cosmic matter (Prakrithi);[ which is huge

and vast even for those so-called creator Brahmaa

(chathur mukha brahmaa- four faced one) and the

celestial bodies – devas- wherein they reside]; Oh

indweller of the Time (Kaala tattvam) which is cause

for (and beyond) everything else! You are the one

fixing the time (of last moments) of those rudraas who

live up there (vaana vaaNar) and thus YOU ARE ABOVE

ALL undoubtedly. Who can comprehend and see You ever!

None!

The first line should refer to Brahmaa dakshAthaya:

and the third line refers to rudra:

kaalaanthakadhyAccha: which mean the same. [sri

NammAzhwAr Thiruvoimozhi 4.9- onRu dhEvul ulagum

uyirum maRRum yaadhul illA * anRu- naanmukhan thannOdu

dEvar ulahOdu uyir padaitthAn ]

The second line “aadhiyaana vaanavarkkum aadhiyaana

aadhi nee- one should recall Swamy Desikan’s Tamil

pAsuram in Desika prabandham- purudan maNivaramaaga;

ponnaa mUla prakruthi… which is based from VishNu

purANam’s asthrabhUshaNAdhyAyam- which states that

NithasUris (some) are the kaaraNam for leelAvibhUthi

kaaryam…

The firstly srushti cause is mentioned and hence in

third line- samhAram is referred to- antha:kaalam

(final moment). Adhi refers to samhAram here. This is

line with Sri Bhaashyakaarar’s commentary on

BrahmasUthram- where he refers to Adhi padham as

atthA= adhanakartthA- meaning- samhAra kartthan.

For everyone- You fix the final day and time.

[as mentioned by You in Bhagavad GitA- Ch 8- 16th

verse-

aabrahmma bhuvanaallOkA: punaraavartthinoRjuna |

maamupEthya thu kaunthEya punarjanma na vidhyathE ||

Krishna says: Arjuna! All the worlds, starting from

the world of Brahmaa, have returned (and are subject

to rebirths).. Oh KaunthEyA! Son of KuntI! But

attaining Me (surrendering to Me_, rebirth is not

known.]

Thus one who presumably the cause – Brahmaa and

presumably the cause for samhARam- rudran – are also

born and dead by our Lord Sriya: Pathi Sriman

Narayanan who is the antaryaami of Kaala tattvam-

Time.

Even Brahmaa and Rudra do not have control over Time…

[Again in Gita 8th Ch- 17th verse-

sahasrayugaparyantham aharyadhbrahmaNO vidhu: |

raathri yugasahasrAnthAm tE(S)hOrAthravidhO janA: ||

Those people, those who know about- day and night-

understand that the day of Brahmaa is upto the end of

thousand yugaas; the night is also being to the end of

1000 yugas.

SrI Paraasara also says: anaadhirbhagawaan kaala: -

antharyaami of Kaala (time)

Thus You are above all; cause of all; antharyaami of

all. Who can see You thus! [except for vedaaanthins]
