Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, About the valour [expertise] in using Bow- three verses subsequently are described by AzhwAr. If someone surrenders at His feet, what does His Bow do? - AzhwAr explains. kaalanEmi kaalanE! kaNakkilaatha keerththiyaay, jnAaalamEzhum uNdupaNdOr paalanaaya paNbanE vElai vEva vilvaLaiththa velsiNnaththa veera! nin baalaraaya paththarsiththam muththiseyyum moorththiyE! (31) Oh Swami! The One who was a Yama (death) of KaalanEmi asurA! [OR] the One who runs the kaala (Time) ChakrA over ages! Kaala nAthA! The One who has infinite fame (yasas)! The One who retained all seven worlds (as an unparalleled infant) before creation and yugas even begin; You bent the divine Bow and let Your anger boil the ocean (SamudrarAjan)! Oh Jaya Jaya MahaaveerA! The ones who are first Your devotees – who later turn against You- then again changed into Your devotees are cleared of their sorrows. What a mercy and compassion of Yours! Generally all verses are enjoyed with Parathvam and Sowlabhyam! Here too, first Parathvam is described by AzhwAr. KaalanEmi- He is Raavana’s uncle KaalanEmi and was killed in Taarakaasura yuddham. The same KaalanEmi came back as Kamsan says Srimad Bhagawatham and in that case, this KaalanEmi can be inferred as the Time wheel – The Lord who is the master of Kaala as well! He is the One who rolls the kaala chakrA and Cosmic dissolutions- then creations – again dissolution etc.. He is akAlavAsyan. Even after mahApraLayam, He never perishes; He remains as the little Baby. During RamavathAram, when Rama was trying to please the SamudrarAjan (by performing Saranagathi) he(Samudrarajan) never came. The angered Rama took an arrow and started to send towards the ocean to make it dry. The ocean king rushed and fell at his feet seeking Rama’s forgiveness. Rama immediately became pleased with the act and changed the arrow’s direction towards the enemies of SamudrarAjan. What a dayA! wonders AzhwAr. The same SamudrarAjan first served AnjanEya when he was crossing the ocean by offering him some rest by raising its mountain above the waters (Anjaneya declined the offer of course); Thus Samudraraja earlier was the devotee of Rama; Hence those anukoolars if they trespass and anger the Lord- they can get back on track by simply falling at His Feet seeking his forgiveness. The most merciful lord immediately forgives and even removes the virOdhis (enemies) of Asrithars. ParamadhayALu. Thus the Bow actually does more harm only for the real enemies (like Ravana) not the changed ones (who were earlier Asrithars). ninpAlar- Your bhakthars- never ever get any sorrows. You ensure that they become ananyaprayOjanars (those paramaikAnthins- not asking or desirous of anything or anyone other than serving his Lotus feet) and remove all virOdhis (enemies) thereby of theirs which are stumbling block for such a status! This line applies to Vibheeshana Saranagathi as well- which can also be inferred here. mRuthy- Swami- Dhivya mangaLa vigraham- He has taken such a beautiful dhivya mangaLa vigraham only to have ananyaprayOjana buddhi which will go only after His divine beauty and charm and nothing else. aiyO ivan azhagenna azhiyaa azhagudaiyaan. En amudhanaik kaNda kaNgaL maRRonRinai kaaNaavE.. (The eyes that have seen my Sweet nectar –RanganAthan- will never ever see anything else- Says ThiruppANAzhwAr). On same lines- this needs to be enjoyed.
