Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, AzhwAr elaborates the valor of Rama with his divine Bow in another way in this verse. kurakkiNnap padaikodu kuraikadalin meedhupOy arakkar angu aranga veMcharam thurantha Aadhi nee irakkamaN koduththavaRku irakkam onRum inRiyE parakkavaiththu aLandhukoNda paRpapaadhan allaiyE? (32) A wonderful anubhavam of AzhwAr! You the great valorous One! – who sent cruel sharp arrows effortlessly to the complete destruction of raakshasas (arakkar- aranga- destruction of arakkar) in lankA; after building a bridge made of rocks on the ocean in order to reach lankA – with the help of the army of monkeys! [And Before that], When you asked for three measures of earth [maN irakka- beg for earth] by Your feet [during Your vaamanaavathAram], Bhali immediately without any hesiatation pledged to give (offered to give) and You with absolutely no mercy at all (irakkam onRum inRi) – not even a semblance of it- measured the entire Universe leaving no portion untouched by Your Feet and took the whole Universe – Aren’t You Padma pAdhan! The One with the red lotus feet? [You are]. When Devas surrendered at Your feet to save them from Raavana and others, You appeared as Rama and gathered the army of monkeys (out of Your sowlabhyam- though You can singled handedly handle) and leaving no one behind, took them all to lankA – by building a bridge across the ocean giving also them a chance to offer their kaimkaryam (service). Ultimately, You did not utilize their help or services and made the clan of Raakshasaas destroyed completely with Your prime strength by sending arrows at them effortlessly and victoriously! What is the big deal and wonder in it! You are Supreme Lord and born as Kshathriyan [king]! The same Devas pleaded to You for getting back the kingdom that was taken away by Bhali and this time, You appeared as small dwarf like Brahmachari Boy – in a divine beautiful Brahmin form and inspite of Bhali’s Acharya SukrAchArya stopping him and preventing him from granting what You asked for [realizing that it is mahAvishNu who has appeared with an intent to conquer Bhali], Bhali offered to continue with his promise made that he would give during the yaagam. You did not even let him stay at the earth leaving a small portion of land for him; instead, You measured the whole Universe with your step mercilessly (irakka onRum inRiyE) and got the whole Universe back from Bhali [though it is always yours]. Did You get scared as a brahmin little boy with powerful king in front of You? No! You showed no mercy and rose to ViswarUpam to measure the whole Universe. Did you ever think of showing dayA to him! Never. Did you ever think of those tender charming beautiful red lotus feet- which lookas if they have just been bloomed- that they would get hurt and pricked by thorns and rocks of the forests if You expand! The three worlds- Both Devendran and Bhali wanted to rule them greedily. Did you attempt to negotiate and split them into two for both so that both are happy? No. When You are born as Brahmin- [brahmins usually are repository of dayA- aiyO paavam- kudutthadalaam- kEkkiRaan- is our- brahmins’ stand generally], You did not show any dayA or mercy; and when You are born as King (kshathriyan), will You show any mercy? So, what is the wonder in destroying the lankA raakshasaas completely and effortlessly! No big deal. Padma pAdhan- You forget even the tenderness of Your ThirumEni (Body) and rush to take care of Asrithars (devotees)! That is Your nature- enjoys AzhwAr by taking the word PadmapAdhan- Says Sri UttamUr Swamy beautifully.
