Dearest Srivaishnavas,

mannumaama larkkizhaththi

vaiyamankai mainthanaay,

pinnumaayar pinnaithOLma

NampuNarntha thanRiyum,

unnapaatha mennasinthai

mannavaiththu nalkinaay,

ponnisoo zharankamEya

puNdareeka NnallaiyE? (55)

The loving ever Youthful master of Periya PiraaTTi

Lakshmi (residing eternally on the grand lotus

flower), BhUmi PiraaTTi; and further more, enjoyed

uniting and hugging the bamboo like shoulders of

beautiful cowherd girl Nappinnai PiraaTTi; and not

just that; You placed Your tender divine lotus feet in

my mind and ensured that they are firmly seated there

and blessed me. Because You are none other than the

Grandest Supreme Lord of Sri Rangam mercifully showing

Yourself here to devotees.

In as much as You enjoyed with Sri and Hri at

Paramapadham, You enjoyed being with Nappinnai

PiraaTTi when You appeared as cowherd Boy KaNNan.

Still, it would not have been easy for adiyEn (me) to

meditate on Your lotus feet and enjoy them here based

on your KaNNan leelAs alone. Simply because You are

mercifully showing Yourself gracefully at Srirangam

for the sake of devotees even this day, You have

enjoyed placing my lotus feet in my heart as much as

You enjoyed being with the divine consorts and

Nappinnai. [this is similar to NammAzhwAr’s namakkum

poovin misaim mangaikkum nAthan] You are the One at

Srirangam for the sake of all of us.

This nammAzhwAr's namakkum poovin misai nangaikkum

nAthan [master for us- and also for PiraaTTi-

Mahalakshmi] - reminds me of Sri Madhavchariar's

narration of how Sri Thirukkudanthai Andavan enjoyed

this line ... When a man buys a good most valuable

sari for his spouse, he is affectinate and loving

towards his wife- and he wants her to know by the

purchase of such a valuable item for her. If he also

buys the same quality of a sari- (identical to the

wife's) for his vElaikkaari (maid servant), then on

whom does He have more affection?- Naturally on the

maid... Similarly, PerumAL (the Lord) is the master

for us and in same way for the PiraaTTi- meaning- He

is more affectionate and loving towards us- is

Acharyan's anubhavam.. [This is to be enjoyed in

lighter vein- do not take it serious- the undrelying

anubhavam of Lord's compaasion needs to be understood]

Kizhatthi- old or Grand or rightful lady- Periya

PiraaTTi; She is the Mother of the jagath; akila

jaganmAtharam; asmadhmAtharam (says Sri Bhashyakarar

in Sanagathi gadyam).

You are the eternally Youthful Lord of that BhUmi

PiraaTTi and Periya PiraaTTi. But You enjoyed being

with cowherd beautiful Nappinnai (as she is younger

than others). Now my mind being the youngest of all is

the object of greater enjoyment for Your lotus feet.

Namo Narayana
