Thirucchandhaviruttham- 66th verse- AzhwAr advises: Death is certain - why waste time? Think of His Lotus feet now!

SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

A great pAsuram:

 

inRusaadhal ninRusaadha

lanRiyaarum vaiyakaththu,

onRin^inRu vaazhthalinmai

kaNdun^eesa ren_kolO,

anRupaara Landhapaadha

pOdhaiyunni vaaninmEl,

senRusenRu thEvaraayi

rukkilaatha vaNNamE? (66)

 

In this prakrithi maNdalam (cosmic universe),

whomsoever he is- whatever great they are and powerful

they are- everyone is bound to die either now or after

some time… It is certain that death will sure to

strike each and everyone and it is never ever

permanent to stay and live here for ever – is what

everyone knows due to prathyaksha [direct perception]

evidence. Though they see this in their lives – in day

to day lives, they – fools- have not even thought of

and mediated on the most beautiful divine red lotus

feet of Lord Thrivikraman – the one who mercifully

measured the whole universe with His feet (touching

everyone and everything). They have not [thus done

what needs to be done (of surrendering to his feet

and] attained Parampadham thereby and enjoy equal

status to that of NithyasUris therein. Why so?

 

When AzhwAr enjoys His sowlabhyam of His entering into

the heart of AzhwAr satying there permanently, AzhwAr

looks at the world – running amuck after material

pusuits and sensual desires and pleasures. He laments

at their stupidity and calls them fools (neesar) –

anjnAnis. Even after seeing the death of their near

and dears – the inevitability of death striking to

each and everyone regardless of their riches, power

etc., still they never ever even think of the divine

red lotus feet of the Lord Sriman Narayanan.

 

This Lord – even when none prayed to Him for the

darshan and touching of His lotus Feet- mercifully

took huge Thirvikrama avathAram and touches everyone

in the universe with his divine lotus feet. Such

ParamOdhAran- purifying the world with His

measurement. Just by a mere thought of such glorious

divine Lotus feet alone is adequate. One need not

think that the performance and doing upAyam is

difficult and tough. It is not so. Even the goal is

temporary and fleeting- one can not say. It is always

eternal. aksharE paramE vyOman. The Paramapadham is

eternal and never perishes unlike any other fruits –

like aishwarya, kaivalyam. Even one goes there, there

is absolutely no sorrows, no sadness, no samsaaric

afflictions. There is only enjoyment, absolute Bliss,

serving most merrily the divine dampathi’s lotus feet

for ever and ever and be associated with the

respective Acharyas for ever and ever. SwarUpa

AvirbhAvam and Paramasaamyam will be there. We will

have fullest swarUpa jnAnam with dharma bhUtha jNAnam

is fullest glories – revealed to us and will also be

blessed to be of same status, same form and in the

same place.. [saarUpyam, saamepyam, saalOkyam and

saayujyam]. Except granting of mOksha and shrishti,

all others will be of the same like Sriman Narayanan.

Between NithyasUris and mukthAs there will be no

difference.

 

Why are these fools not thinking of them and are

running amuck? These lowly ones- should consider their

fleeting nature of births and deaths and think of His

lotus feet. neeCChOcchayO: swabhAvO(S)yam nanthu

nanthavyathAthmakam- This eternal service at and

enjoyment of the lotus feet of Dhivya Dampathi at

Paramapadham – with status completely equal to that of

NithyasUris alone should be the goal. – AzhwAr

mentions.
