Thirucchandhaviruttham- 67th verse- AzhwAr has started his advice to the worldly people!

SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

The Lord- standing- sitting and reclining One;- these

fools are not even thinking of His lotus feet, when he

is there ever ready waiting for them to come to Him

and thinking of and surrendering to His lotus feet.

AzhwAr feels terrible bad for them. After having

enjoyed Him, AzhwAr now looks at people and feel

remorseful for their ignorance and anjnAnam. One who

enjoys in accordance with saasthrAs is Apthan. One who

feels bad that others are not able to enjoy what he

does is Apthatharan. One who goes on further and

advises the world, instructing them and advising them

the right way in accordance with saasthrAs is

Apthathamar. AzhwAr is Apthathamar and goes full steam

advising the world in the next fifteen verses. [all

for us only- truly]

 

saNdamaNda laththinoodu

senRuveedu peRRumEl

kaNduveedi laathakaatha

linpamn^aaLu meythuveer,

puNdareeka paathapuNya

keerththin^uNYse vimaduththu

uNdu,n^ummu Ruvinaiththu

yaruLn^eenki yuymminO. (67)

 

The people suffer as they are not aware of the tattva,

hitham and purushaarttham. In other words- entities,

the means and the Goal… These knowledge on these three

will not come on its own- nor if it comes through any

other manner, it would not be useful and fruitful- as

it could not crystallize into concrete unshakeable

jnAnam. Else they would switch from one religion to

other not convinced of any of them [Alavandhaar adiyOm

padiyOm ini alvazhakkE]. So, AzhwAr attempts to

instruct them in accordance with saasthrAs. It is the

duty of one who has truly understood and comprehended

the tattvathrayam, rahashyathrayam and the Ultimate –

to proceed to advise and impart to others who are

deeply ignorant and immersed in the samsaaric

afflictions. A true jnAni would not pass without

imparting on others. Thus what has been enjoyed and

attained by me- others also should- AzhwAr realizes

and starts to advise.

 

Oh People! The ones who have the fortune and blessing

of chance of crossing through the hot Solar Galaxy

(Soorya maNdalam) – the archirAdhi maargam to attain

Paramapadham, seeing and enjoying Him there at

Paramapadham for ever, enjoying permanently without

any gap or obstruction /hurdle whatsoever, serving His

lotus feet for time immemorial limitlessly,

faultlessly and uninterruptedly! Save yourself from

the sorrows of samsaaric affliction [arising out of

your karma that have accrued over ages from all births

altogether] by listening through your ears and

enjoying the divine greatness and grandness of kalyANa

gunAs and names of the Lord Sriya: Pathi Sriman

Narayanan – the Lord with the most beautiful charming

red lotus feet.

 

It may also refer to those who are desirous of

attaining Paramapadham and not just who are born! OR

it can mean all those who were there at that time in

the world (when AzhwAr started to advise) when azhwAr

wishes to transform them to mumukshus. They are indeed

blessed with the fortune as who else can be luckier

than them with AzhwAr himself looking at them and

advising!

 

You all should liusten to His glories, divine names,

enjoy the divine Beauty of His dhivya mangaLa

vigraham, His wonderful deeds with tremendous devotion

and interest. Then that would transform you to desire

for only His lotus feet and alleviate you from all

sorrows and karmic diseases, will enable you with more

and more satttvagunA. That enjoyment of His guNAs

itself is food for you. Others are wastes. If you do

not do that, the sins that have accumulated will never

ever get destroyed. [thoomalar thoovi thozhudhu

vaayinaal paadi manatthinaal sindhikka pOya pizhaiyum

pugutharuvaan ninRanavum theeyinaal dhoosaagum..]
