SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Out of three kinds of fruits- only the mOksha prApthi

[attaining mOksham] alone is the greatest- says

AzhwAr.

 

muththiRaththu vaaNiyaththi

raNdilonRu neesar_kaL,

maththaraayma yankukinRa

thittathili RanthapOnthu,

eththiRaththu muyvathOru

paayamillai yuykuRil,

thoththuRaththa thaNduzhaayn^an

maalaivaazhththi vaazhminO. (68)

 

Out of three fruits, leaving the most essential and

important One- these worldly people stick to other two

fruits (goals) and for that, throw themselves out

(throwing the true jeevAthma swarUpam) and die and die

and die again… immersing themselves with jeevaathma

bhramam (false notion -thinking body is AthmA) and

swathanthraathma bhramam (jeevathma is independent and

free) and tie down themselves with other vishayams

running amuck after them. Whatever fruits one gets,

that does not redeem one at all except mOskha prApthi.

If one wishes to get saved [uyguRil], Sing “pallANdu”

praising the Lord Sriya: Pathi Sriman Narayanan

wearing the cool, most fragrant thuLasi garland and

live (do not die)…

 

vaaNiyam- business- running after goals; vision,

mission etc.. Here it refers to goals in life..

There are three kinds of goals- Saathvikam, Raajasam,

thaamasam. Meaning: the fruit that is accompanied with

satthva guNa is Saathvika goal.

 

If one gets any kind of fruits by any way from anyone

else (including Devas) by following any action/ prayer

to them, that is only prAkrutha palan. (means: the

worldly fruits alone). It does not liberate him from

samsaaric affliction.

 

Asihwaryam, kaivalyam, mOksham – are referred to here.

The first two are worldly ones and the last is mOksha

prApthi.. Only Sriman Narayanan is mOksha pradhan.

Only One who can grant mOksham – salvation from

further births and deaths.

 

There are three kinds of bhramam (false notions)

prevailing in the world.

dhEhAthma bhramam

swathanthra bhramam

dEvathAnthra bhramam

 

First is thinking that Body is AthmA and live to just

satisfy the flesh…

Second is knowing that body is different from AthmA –

slightly improved. But again, AthmA (Jeevan) is

completely free, independent; he Himself is Brahman

etc… (remember tvam mE aham mE..sloka )

dhEvathAnthra bhramam- Considering that others (like

Rudran, BrahmA, vinayaka, muruga can grant mOksham and

save you from all future births and deaths. [They

themselves were born / created by Sriman Narayanan and

they are also belonging to jeevathma cateogory only. ]

 

Thus, =none or no means can let you reach mOksham.

Hence sing in praise of Sriman Narayanan- the Only One

who wears ThuLasi garland- if ever you wish to get

saved.

 

AzhwAr says: Sing in praise of Him. Do that and live..

Then only it is called life. Otherwise, it is not

deemed living- as per AzhwAr.
