SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Ok. We agree that mOksham alone is the goal. But

saasthrAs have glorified even other demi gods- one may

argue. Those who think that they can praise the

swarUpa, vibhUthi (nature and qualities, attributes)

of them (demi gods) and get mOksham, AzhwAr advises

here: listening, contemplation, dhyAnam (meditation),

enjoyment of Dhivya mangaLa vigraha (darshanam) are

all not even accepted by those demi gods. Even if one

does, they can not and are not capable of granting

mOksham- mark my words. All acts of devotion are all

meant only for Sriman Narayanan.

 

kaaNilummu ruppolaarse

vikkinaatha keerththiyaar,

pENilumva rantharami

dukkilaatha thEvarai,

aaNamenRa dainthuvaazhum

aathar_kaaL!em maathipaal,

pENin^umpi Rappenumpi

NakkaRukka kiRRirE. (69)

 

Even if one sees- it having a very cruel, ugly form;

even when uttering praises, their glories are not

unpalatable to ears; even when devotedly and lovingly

bow down and prostrate, they can not and are not

capable of granting whatever we ask for.. (There is a

limit for them)- such ones are brahma, rudra et al.

Consdering those demi ones- as the ultimate and

praying to them, “you alone are the refuge” and enjoy

being their devotees in this life, Oh blind folks!

(adhargaaL).. Jagath kaaraNan (cause and creator of

the whole Universe including your demi gods), Sarva

rakshakan, Sarva shakthan, Sriman Narayanan (One who

is worshipped by us); The Primordial Chief; have love,

devotion, on Him and get rid of that “peedai” punar

janman (further births) with His benevolent grace. He

alone can do. (PeriyAzhwAr says:

yerutthukkodiyaanum piramanum indhiranum maRRum

oruttharum ippiRavi yennum nOykku marundhu aRivaarum

illai " (the bull flag one- Sivan, BrahmAn, Indran-

they all do not know the medicine for the disease of

these births and deaths. Not just that. Even if they

know, they are not doctors. Only He knows the medicine

and He knows how to prescribe)

There is absolutely none else who knows the medicine

to get rid of this disease of births and deaths-other

than Him.

 

Even if you see them- five heads; three eyes _ with

fire eye; matted locks; fill of ashes on the body;

elephant skin; thigambaram;

 

Even if one wishes to hear his glories; how he cut the

head of his father (chathur mukha brahmA); how he

troubled and killed his father in law; hw he favoured

the asurAs; how he has destruction and killing alone

as his duty; - is all one can hear. Who wants to

listen to these and above all – enjoy listening!

 

Who wants to enjoy such a darshan! Also it is not easy

to get… One has to shave off the head, do severe

penance, sacrifice the son – is the nature of prayers

they are looking for to get pleased. Ok. We can do

that even those deeds. But what do you get in the

process as a result? They are not capable of getting

our diseases get cured at all! They are not all

capable of granting us mOksham and get out future

births ridden of…

 

Simply have devotion on the divine Lord’s – Sriman

Narayanan’s red lotus feet and that’s all you need to

do. You can get rid if the most deadly disease –

further births…

 

These demi gods are not primordial. He is. They get

their little powers from Him alone. He is our Swami..

Do not get scared. He is so easily accessible. If we

can worship Him, you too can. He is our KaNNan. His

form is sweet; His lips are sweet. His feet is like

red lotus/. Look at His eyes so- divinely charming and

are two large ruddy lined well laid, red lotus eyes.

He never ever lets His devotees down. He forgives all

apacharams (trespasses) of the devotees once they

surrender to Him. He has all glories which themselves

are sweet for our ears; one can keep on hearing them.

They are insatiable nectarine keerthis. Pathram

pushpam phalam, thoyam- even if you offer one flower,

pne fruits, little water, whatever that you have to

His lotus feet, he gets immensely pleased, and thinks

that He is indebted to You for what you have offered

Him.

 

He is Jagath kaaraNan; akila jagath swami; asmath

swAmin..

He is our kaaraNan – aAzhwAr says. Sicne He created us

as His devotees, this shrushti has become useful.

Hence our kaaraNan.
