SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Thus having declared the Lord's compassion and

vaathsalyam on those who realise their Akinchanyathvam

(utter helplessness) and ananyagathithvam (having no

other refuge other than Sriman Narayanan), AzhwAr

mentions an example for the same and asks what he

wants.

 

paNNulaavu menmozhippa

daiththadanka NaaLporuttu

eNNilaava rakkarain^e

ruppiNnaaln^e rukkinaay,

kaNNalaalor kaNNilEn_ka

lanthasuRRam maRRilEn,

eNNilaatha maaya!n^innai

yennuLn^eekka lenRumE. (91)

 

Oh Most mysterious and wonderful Lord! The One who can

not be comprehended fully! You had destroyed countless

raakshasas with your fiery arrows for the sake of

sweet, musical toned, soft spoken and well laid out,

well spead, spear like sharp, darting, large eyed SitA

PiraaTTi. But for You as the Only refuge, I have none

else at all for being saved. I have no other relation

equal to You for me. Please do not remove Your form

from my mind.

 

Oh Incomprhensible Lord! Who can know the real nature

about You, who is unborn, but periodically taking

births for the good of the world; free from action,

yet destroyer of enemies; though asleep; ever

vigilant. There are very many examples of Your saving

Your Asrithars (devotees). Let me submit one of such

cases now. How much trouble You had undertaken for the

sake of SitA PiraaTTi! Why? madhurA madhurAlAPA kimAha

mama baaminee - thus, You were captured and captivated

by Her sweet words; soft, musical spoken nature. tham

chEyamasithEkshaNA.. You were enslaved by her large,

sharp, spear like, well laid out, ruffy lined, dark

beautiful lotus like eyes. You mentioned: na jeevEyam

kshaNamapi vinA thaamasithEkshaNaam.. Because she had

devoted herself to You as Your property; Your spouse;

Your dharma pathnI. When someone is not devoted or has

not offered himself or herself, his or her speech,

form, beauty are not sweet to You; dhArA pithrukruthA

ithi- First relationship and be connected and then

preethi (love) develops. You destroyed thousands of

raakshasas for her sake and for saving her. That too

effortlessly. With sthairya, dhairyam, and sowryam..

You showed Your parAkramam. Your enumerous maayam

(mysteries) alone could destroy such enumerous asurAs.

 

 

Please save me also like You did for her. I also sing

with poetic form about You and in praise of You

declaring my only relation i.e. You... and none else;

announcing my utter helplessness. I also enjoy Your

form with my (inner) eyes. So, start liking my talk,

and my eyes like You are captivated by SitA PiraaTTi's

sweet talk and large eyes. I am also Your pathnI

(spouse). sthreeprAyamitharajjagath... You enslave

even males with your most beautiful divine Form; You

are only Purushan (PurushOtthaman); all other

jeevathmas are like sthrees. I am also thus a sthree

(lady). AzhwAr thus desires to see Him in person, and

be united with Him. AzhwAr years like a lady love who

longs to be with her spouse.

 

For me also these raakshasas (ten of them) i.e. senses

are torturing me. daSEndriyAnanam GhOram yO manO

rajaneeCharam. These asuRAs are laying down the path

for me to get trapped. With trhe blazing fire of

jnAnam of You and Your form and my eternal

relationship with You and none and nothing else that

should arise in me to detstroy these asurAs. For Her

You are the eye; For me too, You are the eye. There is

a difference however. She was capable of protecting

herself as She is MahAlakshmI. To glorify Your valor,

She sought Your saving her. But I do not have any

capacity to protect myself at all. I am completely

dependent on You.

 

There is another speciality. She had Thirjadai

(daughter of Vibheeshanan) to help her and speak good

words to console her. You had even sent Haunman as

messenger to let her wait for little more time when

she was about to commit suicide as she could not

suffer any more and suffer. Whereas, I have no

relation, no support here and to tell consoling words

for me. There could be many around; but none talks in

favour of my state. What is the use of them then?

Hence You need to rush to me to save me. There is also

a difference betwween SitA PiraaTTi's request and

mine. She wanted to be with You always. What I seek

from You is to keep You in my mind ever and do not

remove that. She wanted to be with You and wanted You

to save her from Ravana. You could have sent someone

to bring her; But You went on Your own to destroy

Ravana and bring her. But to retain Yourself in me

forever, who should come? i can not do anything. You

need to come Yourself and be there.
