SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Lord appears to ask AzhwAr: Taking pity on You, I need

to say " do not fear " (abhayam) and I need to be in

Your heart always for ever- You prayed for. Why should

I be there and what for? How it is possible for you to

see Me in the world objects - Is it feasible? - AzhwAr

responds.

 

ooninmEya aavin^ee_u

RakkamOdu Narchchin^ee,

aanilmEya ainthumn^ee_a

vaRRuLn^inRa thooymain^ee,

vaaninOdu maNNumn^eeva

LankadaRpa yanumn^ee,

yaanumn^eeya thanRiyempi

raanumn^eeyi raamanE! (94)

 

Oh Raama piraanE! You are the life within this human

flesh.. You are the sleep as well as jnAnam (awakening

state). You are the very pancha kavyam made from the

cow's milk, curd, and others. You are cleansing power

in the panchakavyam which removes the sins. You are

the upper and lower worlds. You are the fruits that

one gets from the oceans of the world! You are Me too.

Not just that Unity with me; You are the One who

blesses us as well.

 

It is certain that the people living in the world can

not but see the world. Also for those who wish to

enjoy You and perform meditation, the body, their

life, their feelings, their experiences- the paapams

that are accrued due to them- are all cleared and

removed by the pancha kavyams (made of Cow's milk,

curd, Ghee, Urine and excreta) which would cleanse one

of their sins- per saasthras. Thus when think of it,

everything is needed in this world. However, if one

has You in the heart always, then whatever that he

sees - will be You; {sunischaiva svapAkhE cha paNdithA

samadarshina:)

 

brahmArpaNam brahmahavi: brahmAgnou brahmaNA hutham..

 

The experience arising out of this world- will be also

You.. And it [such a feeling] is due to Your anugraham

(grace) only. That feeling should be the underlying

fundamental basis in a devotee's life.

oonin mEya vaavi; adhanRi Em piraanum nee- This only

means that the matter (achith) and the jeevas (chith)

are all He (meaning- His attributes- His sareera) and

He is our Piraan (Master); Thus, AzhwAr establishes

our sampradayam which is based on ALL sruthi vaakyam

without violating any sruthi (Vedic statements) void

or false. It does not mean abhEdha stuthis alone -

merging with Brahman and Brahman is the world and

there is nothing else other than Brahman.

 

Sri Ramanuja had defined this term sareera uniquely-

as derived from Upanishads: That substance, which is

capable of being entirely controlled and sustained by

a sentient being for its own sake and which is

essentially subservient to that being is the sareera

of that being.

 

yasya chEthanasya yadravyam sarvAthmanA svARthE

niyanthum DhArayithum Cha Sakhyam,

thaCCHEshathaikaswaroopam Cha thatthasya SarIramithi

SarIralakshaNamAsThEyam |

 

For the world, and for me- You are the Master; You are

the Controller; You are nAThan. But You do not become

us and the world. All of us (including matter) are the

Sareera of Yours and are supported by You. Your

command; Your direction is what makes us exist and

act. Thus all these guNAs of ours are Your sankalpam

and Your will; under your control.

 

You Yourself have declared in GitA:

 

All this world of the sentient and non-sentient is

pervaded by Me, the unmanifested Being. All the

objects which are under my control, subsist in Me; I

do not subsist in them; in other words, My existence

does not depend on them. Again these objects do not

abide in Me- Look at my divine Power; I support all

the objects and yet I do not abide in them. It is my

sankalpa that supports. (GitA- 9th Chapter- 4,5)
