SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

It is definite that He would destroy and remove all

enemies (hurdles) and take us to His upper world;

achchamn^Oyo dallalpalpi

Rappuvaaya mooppivai,

vaiththasinthai vaiththavaakkai

maaRRivaani lERRuvaan,

achchuthana nanthakeerththi

yaathiyantha millavan,

nachchun^aaka Naikkidantha

naathanvEtha keethanE. (117)

Achuthan- the One who never ever leaves His Asrithars

(devotees); Anantha keertthi- unbounded, limitless

glorious Lord- The One who does not have a beginning

nor an end; The One who reclines on the poisonous

Snake AdhisEshan; the Lord sung and praised by Vedas;

the Divine Consort of Sri MahalakshmI; He Himself

would remove the hurdles namely, fear, the bodily

diseases, mind diseases (psychological) the various

future births, death, old age, the worries about them,

- the cause of all of them- being the material body-

is all removed by Him

and He would Himself take me to His abode.

SaaSvatham Sivamachyutham;

Ananthamavyayam kavigum samudrEntham… Taking these

vedic statements,

AzhwAr addressed Him as Veda Geethan- Lord, Sung by

Vedas;

For those who have performed Sarangati there is no

fear at all. For others, there is lot of fear on the

way till the end; nirbharam birbhayOsmi; no fear and

no burden;

The fear is on everything, further births, death,

diseases, old age, disability, psychological diseases

and there are very many. Thus more than actual

occurrence of these- and suffering, the worry that it

would come is more and hence AzhwAr says contemplation

of these fears

will also be removed by Him.

Thus by this verse, in the 117th paasuram, AzhwAr

boldly announces that the Omnipotent Lord is going to

banish all his physical illness, mental illness

,deaths and rebirths in this world , the body and its

infirmities and lift him upto His Parama Padham for

nithya Kaimkaryam. The naamam that AzhwAr chooses for

the Lord in this Paasuram is Achyuthan or the One, who

will not falter(slip) in His effort to protect.

Sriman Narayanan as sung in Veas as the Supreme Lord-

ananthan- Achyuthan- Sriman Narayanan (Sriya: Pathi)

will sure to ascend us to the Parama padham and it is

now definite as the performance of Saranagti is

already performed.

Who will ascend me to the upper world? He-

Achyuthan-One who never falters; He is none other than

Sriman Narayanan- the divine consort of MahalakshmI-

SrI. He is sung in Vedas elaborately as the

beginning-less, endless Lord- ananthan. He is

Vedageethan. Thus other demi gods do not have any

relationship with that deed of taking me to the Abode;

It is only He who does it; Thus it is He who is the

prime reason and means for reaching Him; Thus He is

the means and the Goal;

Only Bhakti yogam and Prapatti (Saranagati) are only

the vyAjam- secondary means and an excuse to please

Him [as prescribed by Him in saasthrAs] and He is the

One ever ready as the means to achieve the Goal (who

is also Him);

Namo Narayana
