Dearest Srivaishnavas,

AzhwAr explains why and what is the reason for such

fearlessness and boldness of his.

Oh Dear divine consort of lotus seated PiraaTTi! My

Mind! during the actions of the tongue (while

speaking), while performing through the body parts

(and limbs), and while performing the other actions,

at all times, contemplates and meditates the love and

devotion [on You]; at day and at night; and also at

the twilights (when the day meets the night and the

when the day dawns- sandhyA kaalams); the mind hugs

and embraces Your unparalleled pair of lotus feet and

consider that as the prApyam (Goal) and is firm on

That alone. [hence the fear is dispelled]

This verse -like the earlier one- is also towards him-

anusandhAnam. Or one may also say that like the

earlier verse this addresses the Lord as well. So,

nAThA! is addressing Him. Or if it addresses to

himself, it is to be read as nAtha paadha as one word.

The firmness of AzhwAr’s mind on the Lord’s lotus

feet is described here. The soul also is firm is

mentioned in the next verse (119th verse)

Anbinum- With love, devotion, affection- on the Lord-

thus manas (mind) is referred to; That too- it

shouldbe preethi roopam (in the form of affection,

prEma while serving Him); the word, the praise, the

slokas

the recitation or rendering during ArAdhanam shall be

in the form of pleasing Him; it should be laden with

prEmai; one should have moist eyed while praising Him

with sthOthras or recites the pAsurams. Thus dhyAnam

also should be such;

One can have perhaps more concentration at night or at

sandhi (twilight); during day time, there may be many

hurdles and disturbances; But here, at all times, at

days, at nights, the firmness of mind is mentioned.

Nan pagal- Good day time (because the dhyAnam is on

Him firmly)..

pagalinOdumaana- evening is also included herein. Some

spend the entire day and evenings on other [material]

work and unlike that AzhwAr always think of the divine

Lotus feet of the Lord during the entire

day (24 hours). The morning and evening at dawn and

dusk- it is prescribed in saasthrAs to think of the

Lord and hence that is also included as –aana-. [some

do before noon and doze off in the afternoon

after lunch [like me:-) ]
