Sri Alavandhaar's SthOthra Rathnam- verse 14- It is You who is the Cause for Cosmic Evolution and Dissolution

SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

Are you saying, “They have prajaapathi, Pasupathi

names and hence I do not have control on them; the

birth and deaths of beings are under their

jurisdiction; Hence you depend on them”.

 

No.. You can not say that. Because it is NOT actually

the case. The whole Universe which appears to have

them as chiefs – is also created due to Your sankalpam

alone- says Alavandhar here.

 

kasyOdharE haravirincha mukha prapancha:

kOrakshatheem ajanishta cha kasya naabhE:

kraantvaa nigeerya punarudgirathi tvadhanya:

ka: kEna vaisha paravaan ithi sankha sankha: [14]

 

BrahmA- Rudra (Haravirincha mukha)- appears to be

chief of the whole universe; In whose stomach does

this universe rest [at the time of disscolution]?

[theirs?- BrahmA? Rudran’s?] Who protects the Universe

and beings [beginning from BrahmA, Rudra- everyone and

every being]? From whose navel has this universe

sprouted out? Is there anyone other than You measuring

the whole universe; retaining the whole Universe

during praLayam [Cosmic dissolution] and bringing out

again after the mahApraLaya? Thus protecting the

same..? who can even think of as a matter of even a

semblance of doubt that there can be someone else who

is Superior to You?

 

The creation which was before the BrahmA, Rudra, et al

is the same way the dissolution beyond their time as

well; All gets into His stomach (including BrahmA,

Rudra as they too are mere beings]; Thus who saves the

Universe and beings? From whom they were born? From

whose navel? Chathur mukha BrahmA, the creating starts

on his day and praLayam comes at his night; Thus it is

You who swallows and spits it out with BrahmA as an

instrument to create. Who measured with the Feet –

this whole Universe? You alone; who could get back

from Mahaa bhali? Other avathArams can not establish

as clearly as this Thrivikrama avathAram and hence I

mention that. If BrahmA, Rudra create and destroy, why

should PurANAs say that You swallow and spit the same

out? Why did Maarkandeya see everything in Your

stomach? Thus they are only instrument and You are the

Prime Force. Sarva antharyaami is Narayana; Vishnu,

BrahmA, Rudra – though are three sharing the duities;

It is Vishnu who is the ParamAthmA, [similar to the

Owner of Huge Corporation taking care of Business

Development and Finance while He appoints the VPs- or

CEO, COO for Execution and Operation – and he can

terminate them as and when their period or performance

is over..]

 

Thus BrahmA, Rudra and the whole universe – every

being is all under Your control alone; You are the

Swami for all; There can be not a fraction of a

second, these can be controlled or ruled by someone

else other than You; there can be no doubt about it

absolutely.

 

Thirumazhisai AzhwAr mentions the same: crystal clear:

 

NarayaNan created Brahman (the four headed one). From

this BrahmA,

Siva was born. Such greatest TRUTH was asserted by

ThirumazhisaiAzhwAr.

Recite his pAsurams and get saved, Oh Mind!. Praise

ThirumazhisaiAzhwAr's Feet.

 

AchAryAs enjoy this AzhwAr's works, and address them

as the sword

that has been taken out of its cover (from the waist

band) to destroy

" other " non- truthful, false notions and doctrines and

to establish that Sriya:pathi Sriman NarayananE is

Parathvam and AzhwAr has NOT still put the sword back

(since the false notion still lingers...!!).

 

Since the 1st pAsuram starts with " Naanmuganai " , this

work is called

" Naanmugan Thiruvandhaadhi

 

First verse of this work says: NarayaNan created

BrahmA (naanmugan- four faced one); BrahmA (thus

became the instrument) and created the universe

starting with Sankaran. And this I have been blessed

to announce in this most important truth. Oh People!

you all see, understand the truth in this and don't

let it get out of your mind.

 

MahOpanishad declares this truth that Narayanan is the

One who cause of creation for all dEvAs through BrahmA

whom He first created. (Thus, AzhwAr implies, " by

getting to know the Creator, and the births of BrahmA

and Sivan, you all can get rid of your future

births " .)
