Sri Alavandhaar's SthOthra Rathnam- verse 25- I am used to failures- rejections and suffering; if You do not save me, You would only lose!

SrImathE Hopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

 

For His own benefit also, He needs to save- Alavandhar

mentioned. If not, there will be more loss for Him

than for Alavandhar himself. " To remove all your

suffering, your paapams, you pray for my grace and for

that you should be thanking me and instead, how are

you saying " it is due to my benefit and that's why I

need to save you " - asks the Lord.

Alavandhar responds here:

 

abhUtha poorvam mama bhaavi kimvaa

sarvam sahE mE sahajam hi dhukkam

kimthuthvadhagrE SaraNAgathAnAm

parAbhavO nAth! na thE(S)anuroopa: [25]

 

For me- what kind of sorrows and suffereing will come-

hereafter- which I have not suffered so far? [none]

All I can endure [as I have been enduring so long].

Dhukkam- sorrows- and myself are born together; But oh

Lord! It si absolutely not appropriate for You

and unbecoming of You- to let someone- who has taken

refuge at Your feet and performed Saranagathi at

Your feet- to be affected, get disgusted and

frustrated to overcome these suffering and births. It

is not right for such Glorious You to let it happen.

 

You appear to ignore and reject me who is a

Saranagathan- one who has surrendered. I myself have

ignored and rejected many saranagathars [thos who have

sought my help]. And I am aware of the blame and the

consequence of the same. If You decide to ignore me

and reject me, just like earlier times- the cruel sins

and paapams will torture me and make me suffer.

 

Though I have performed absolute and unconditional

Saranagathi at Your Feet in front of You, and if this

continues to happen, it would only affect your glories

that You are SaraNyan; Saranaagatha vathsalan, and

would nullify your own statements.

 

Though You do not have any dhukkam because of this,

the saasthrAs would become void with your such acts.

People would lose faith on vidhi nishEdhams (do's and

don'ts of saasthrAs). Do not think that just no

considering this one (me)- is there so much of

consequence? You are completely impartial and

nishpakshapaathi.

 

why should You leave me alone? Then, reject all those

who have surrendered at Your feet. Thus, those who

would follow me and perform Saranagathi would get the

same rejection. Hence please save me for Your sake.
