Guest guest
Sunday , April 10 , 2005 TaaraNa Samvathsaram , Panguni Sukla Paksha Dhvitheeyai , Aswini Nakshathram SrI : Dear BhakthAs of Sri BhUmi Devi SamEtha Oppilaa Appan : In the previous Patthu , Thirumangai Mannan celebrated the Vaibhavam of the EmperumAn of Nandhipura ViNNagaram : " naRai sey pozhil mazhai tavazhum Nandhipura ViNNagaram naNNi-urayum uRai koLL puhar-aazhi suri-sangamavai ankai udayAn " In the dense flower tree-laden groves of Nandhipura ViNNagaram , Kaliyan sees the dark rainy clouds resting . Those cool , green groves and the dark blue colored clouds reminds Kaliyan of the NeelamEgha shyAmaLa roopam of the Lord , who has approached the fertile and verdant Nandhipura ViNNagaram with preethi and settled down there for His permanent residence . The Empruman of this dhivya dEsam has covered His weapons adorning His beautiful hands with appropriate kavachams , since AzhwAr has the shining spear in his hand for the rakshaNam of his Lord . Both the Sudarsanam , Paanchajanyam and other weapons of the Lord are now covered , since the Lord feels that there is no need now for the prayOgam of His aayudhams. Kaliyan has directed his mind to enjoy the dhivya MangaLa vigraham of the Lord of Nandhipura ViNNagaram . Kaliyan's mind was now experiencing the tranquility ; his mind began to dwell on other ViNNagarams with & without prefixes . Flashes of KaazhiccheerAma ViNNagaram , ParamEswara ViNNagaram and ThiruviNNagaram appeared before Kaliyan's mind engaged in that Aanandha- anubhavam at Nandhipura ViNNagaram . The echos of ViNNagara Sabdham also resonated in Kaliyan's mind . Then Kaliyan realized that there is only one ViNNagaram without prefix or Suffix and that matchless Lord ( OppilA appan ) was pulling Kaliyan towards Him from a very short distance across the rice fields . Kaliyan felt the pull and recognized that ThiruviNNagarappan is the One , who took the ThrivikramAvathAram to bless us in the archA form at KaazhiccheerAma ViNNagaram as TaadALan and He is the One , who is his "AaNDAy " ( ParamEwaran/ Sarva Swamy ) . Kaliyan took leave of Nandhipura ViNNagarAn and rushed to ThiruviNNagram to reveal what was in his mind to TannoppArilappan , ThiruviNnagarAn . Kaliyan revealed that he was seeking the " aruL " of the darsana soubhAgyam of the " ViNNagar mEyavan ". Kaliyan reiterated ten times in the first ten of ThiruviNNagaram Paasurams that the rare boon of the direct darsanam of ThiruviNNagarappan will help him reject the life in the prakruthi MaNdalam as asaaram ( purposeless , pointless uninteresting and insignificant ) . Kaliyan's moving prayer repeated as the third and fourth paadham of each of the PTM 6.1 Paasurams takes this form as a Tani Makudam : " AaNDAy Unaik-kaaNpathOr aruL yenakku aruLithiyEl vENDEn manai vaazhkayai ViNNagar mEyavanE " Oh Lord of Nithya Sooris and Muktha Jeevans at Sri Vaikuntam ! If only You could bless me with the aanandha anubhavam of Your dhivya darsanam , adiyEn , who is a mahaa Paapi would discard the Prakruthi MaNDalam and its evanescent bhOgams in favor of choosing the everlasting bliss of residence at Your Parama Padham . In the ten paasurams of PTM 6.1 , Kaliyan spells out the dhOshams and Dukkhams of residence in the Prakruthi MaNdalam and declares with conviction that he will reject rightaway the ills of prakruthi maNDalam in favor of holding on to ThiruviNNagarappan's CharaNAravindhams . Kaliyan's Prayer to his Sarva Swamy *********************************************** Kaliyan's prayers are echos of Vedic prayers for blessings of spiritual Iswaryam (wealth) of gaining the Lord Himself as the ultimate boon , which in turn will ward off evil forces associated with Prakruthi MaNDalam and lead to the everlasting and ParipoorNa BrahmAnandham : Indram saanasigum rayigum sajithvAnagum sadhAsaham , varshishDam UthayE bhara -----Rig Vedam: 1.8.1, Saamam: PoorvArchika: 129 , Atharva Vedam : XX.70.17 (Meaning ) : Oh JyOthi SvaroopA ! May Thou grant us the boon of Spiritual Iswaryam of Yours , which is Saasvatham ( everlasting and akshayam) and which would empower us to gain victory over the evil forces of Prakruthi MaNDalam (SamsAric Taapams) . While Kaliyan was praying for the boon of Darsana SoubhAgyam , a nagging thought that the Lord not granting that boon dear to him and begged the Lord not to turn him away as expressed by Rig Vedam Rk VIII.97.7: " Oh Lord of Resplendence ! Turn us not away but share in our Joy . You are our Protector , You are kith and kin ; turn us not away " . Kaliyan was seeking the boon of the Lord's darsana soubhAgyam for slaying the serpent of nescience that was threatening him ( " BrahmaaNa indhram mahayanto arakir avardhayann ahayEhantavaa u " --- Rg Vedam V.31.4 ) . Kaliyan was seeking the boon of Lord's darsana soubhAgyam because it is Thiruvinnagarappan's dhivya JyOthi alone that purifies our soul and chases away the evil thoughts and malicious actions that will propel us to the dark worlds ( yEnaa paavaka chakshasaa bhuraNyantham janAgum anu , thvam VaruNa pasyasi --- Rg Vedam: I.50.6 , Yajur Vedam: XXXIII.32 , Atharva Vedam: XII.2.21 and XX.47.18 ) . AdiyEn will continue with the individual Paasurams of PTM 6.1 in the subsequent postings.
