Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs : Number of You have written to me about how to acquire the above set of Two CD ROMs . Here are some additional comments in this context : (1) Before adiyEn provides that information , adiyEn would like to invite Your attention to the Tamil Text and the English Meanings of the three Gadhyams of AchArya RaamAnuja provided by Our Sri MadhavakkaNNan of Srirangam and Simhapuri . Before you listen to the excellent recital of Sriamthi Nagamani Srinath , it will be good to familarize yourself with the meanings of the ChoorNikais of the three gadhyams .The URL for Sri MadhavakkaNNan's translations is : http://www.srivaishnava.org/sv/rama/gadya.htm (2) Sri V.Srinivasan , the National organizer of Smt.Nagamani's 2005 concert Tour in USA and Canada has kindly agreed to send you the CD ROMs of the three gadhyams . These two CD ROMs have been priced at $20 per set .$5 from the sale of each of these sets will be donated to Lord RanganAthA's Temple at Pomona , NY ( http://www.Ranganatha.org) . (3) You can contact Sriman Srinivasan at Sashti with your requests. Your check should be addressed to " Optimight Consulting LLC". His mailing address is : Optimight Consulting LLC 3614 Columbia Blvd Garland , TX 75043-2246 (4) adiyEn has heard the two wonderful CD ROMs , which show musical craftsmanship , the correct Sanskrit UccharaNam of Complex passages , the proper sandhi bhEdhams and brilliantly intutive selection of many RaagAs to suit the spirit of the different SoorNikais . (5) Twenty Nine RaagAs are elaborately developed step by step to accompany the different gadhyam passages (M) . The Svaroopam of Few more RaagAs are given in between in the humming form(H) without elaboration to provide link and continuity . This combination of rendering the brief and long svaroopams / LakshaNams of the RaagAs to pause /parse according to the Bhaava and the meaning of the gadhyam passages(Saahithyam here) is clever. This is deliberate because the detailed elaboration of all of the 45 raagAs would interfere unduly with the meaning of the Saahithyam ; hence only glimpses of the RaagAs are given without divulging their full svaroopam . (6)Approximately Seventeen Raagams are hummed or hinted by the Flutist or Violinist .The remaining 28 RaagAs are developed elaborately during the rendering of the three gadhyams . These 28 RaagAs slelected with exquisite taste are : SaraNAgathi Gadhyam : (1) Bhouli (H) , (2) PanthuvarALi (3) Sudha DhanyAsi (4) Kaamavardhini (H) , (5) KalyANi , (6) AtaaNaa , (7) Varamu , a rare Raaga used by Saint AnnamAchArya , (8) KeeravANi , (9) SoothradhAra , (10) SarasAngi (11) HamsAnandhi , (12) MadhyamAvathi (13) BhoopALi . Sriranga Gadhyam : (1) Aarabhi , (2) LathAngi , (3) Mohanam , (4) Nata Bhairavi . Vaikunta Gadhyam : (1) Vaasanthi (H) , (2) HindOLam , (3) Durgaa , (4) ShaNmukha PriyA , (5) AbhOgi , (6) Madhuvanthy , (7) Hamsadhwani , (8) Subha-PanthuvarALi (9) Chandra Kouns , (10) Kaanada , (11) KedAra GouLa and ( 12) Surutti . In summary , this set of CD ROMs should be in the house of every Sri VaishNava and should be heard as often as possible to get closer to AchArya RaamAnujA's anubhavam of SaraNAgathi performed before Srirangam Dampathis on behalf of all of us .
