Dear Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha BhakthAs :

 

I am enclosing a report on yeserday's Nrusimha Jayanthi

Uthsavam at Sri RanganAtha Temple .

 

Both the (consecrated ) Uthsavar and Moolavar Vigrahams

in AaarAdhanam at the Sri RanganAtha Temple , Pomona , NY

are most beautiful and remind one of Ahobila KshEthram .

 

The celebrations were well attended and a royal feast fit for

the King of Kings , the Periya Periya PerumAL ( MalOlan )

was presented to the Lord .

 

Swamy NammAzhwAr 's Thirunakshathram was on the same day

in the Morning .

 

All in all , it was an exquisite event as you will gather from

Dr.Venakat Kanumalla's account from his kaimkaryam

perspective as the Chief Priest of the Temple .

Dear devotees,

It was a wonderful celebration yesterday, with more than 300 devotees taking part in the GRAND Sri Lakshmi Nru-Simha Jayanti celebrations at our Sri Ranganatha Temple.

 

Many devotees started visiting the Temple on and off till 5 PM. After that, it was a steady stream of devotees, the whole Main Sannidhi area was filled, with about 200 devotees waiting for the Lord's Divya-abhishekam.

The program started with Sri Satyanarayana Pooja, sponsored by 5 devotees and their families, and as this pooja was in progress, arrangements were being made for the vedOkta- Nava-Kalasa-Abhishekam for the Lord, with proper PunyahavachanAdi poorvangam. Other devotees chanted the Vishnu-Sahasra-nama-strotram, and after that a devotee chanted the whole Laksmi-Nru-Simha Sahasra-nama-strotram.

 

Five Devotees sponsored the Abhishekam, with gallons and gallons of milk, filling all the Nine Huge Silver Kalasams, and the whole sannidhi was just resembling a mini-KshirAbdhi, with four priests attending to all the Upacharams to the Lord, to the accompaniment of TaittirIyOpanishad and Pancha-Suktas, and later to the chanting of Nammazhwar's divya-pAsurams.

Along with Lord Sri Lakshmi-Nru-Simha, our prapanna-jana-kutastha, Sri Nammazhwar also had his wonderful Thirumanjanam, and it was a double-feast to the devotees eyes, witha a rare Bhagavat-Bhagavata katataksham at the same time.

 

Lord lakshmi-Nrusimha was offered the best possible pushpa-malas, with the most fragrant roses and other vana-malas.

 

The offerings to the most Merciful Lord Sri Lakshmi Nru-Simha were made, resembling a Royal Feast, with rAjAnna-sUpa-Samyukta-nAnA-sAkairupeta- chaturvidha-bhakshya-bhOjya-chOshya-Lehya -padArdhas, and the Supreme Lord and His devotees thoroughly enjoyed the dozens of plates of phala-samarpanams made during the abhishekAntargatOpachArams.

 

There were so many devotees enjoying the prasadam through-out the day, as also a few devotees who fasted the whole day until the whole Thrumanjanam was over ( till 9. 30 PM).

 

Later, the Sayanotsavam was a treat to the ears, with excellent renderings by the devotees in different vernaculars.

 

Finally, all the 200 devotees were treated to a wonderful prasadam, including Kesari, Vada, payasam/bAdAm-kheer, mudgAnnam, ChitrAnnam, TintriNIpakvAnnam and of course moorkozhambu-saatramudu etc....

 

Every Devotee who had the mahad-bhAgyam of enjoying the great events of yesterday left the Temple with the only feeling that it was indeed a great poorva-janma-sukruta-vishesham to see the Divya-Dampatis, and the Merciful Lord Sri Lakshmi Nru-Simha on this swAti nakshatra-yukta-chAndramAna-VaisAkha-Shukla-Chaturdasi day.

 

Thanks to all the Volunteers, Board of Trustees and Devotees who helped a lot in making yesterday, a most memorable one, including preparing the wonderful prasadam.
