Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs of ThiruviNNagarappan : Today , let us enjoy the last two Paasurams of Kaliyan's Periya Thirumozhi from 6.2 decad . In the 6.2.9 Paasuram , Kaliyan eulogized the Lord of ThiruviNNagaram as " Sujana Saarvabhouman " . In the 6.2.10 , Kaliyan revealed the phalan of reciting the ten paasurams of this decad . Periya Thirumozhi 6.2.9 Paasuram ************************************ pOthAr ThaamarayAL pulavik-kula vaanavar tamm kOthA ! kOthil senkOl kudai mannaridai nadantha dhUthA ! ThUmozhiyAi ! Sudar pOl yenn manatthiruntha VedhA ! NinnadainthEn ThiruviNNagar MeyavanE ! (Meaning ) : Oh Lord of ThiruviNNagaram dear to MahA Lakshmi residing in the red lotus that blossoms in time , to BhU dEvi and to the DevAs living in Indhira lOkam ! Oh blemishless Messenger , who mediated as the ambassador on behalf of the PaaNDavAs in the middle of many ruling kings ! Oh Lord with sacred Speech (vaak) ! Oh the quintessence of VedhAs shining as the bright jyOthi in my mind ! adiyEn has now surrendered at Your sacred Thiruvadi and seek Your anugraham . Special Notes : ******************* At this dhivya dEsam , there is only one NaacchiAr , BhUmi Devi ( Pulavi) . At SrI Vaikuntam , the Lord is seated with Sri Devi , BhUmi Devi and NeeLA Devi on His throne of Adhi Seshan . At this dhivya dEsam sung by Kaliyan and three other AzhwArs , the Lord wed BhUmi Devi and agreed to Sage MarkaNDEyar's prayer to stay forever at ThiruviNNagaram . Here , BhUmi DEvi , the young bride stays in a kneeling position next to the Lord at His right side ; MahA Lakshmi, the Lotus lady takes up Her residence at the Lord's Chest . The Nithya Sooris and the DevAs are positioned at the Lord's sacred feet . He is dear to them all ( pOthu aar ThAmarayAL pulavi kula vaanavar tamm KOthA ! ) . ThiruviNNagarappan went as PaaNDava dhUthan to negotiate the rightful share for the PaaNDavAs at the court of the evil DuryOdhanan populated by the assembly of kings friendly to the KouravAs ( KOthil senkOl kudai mannaridai nadantha DhUthA ! ) . The Lord of ThiruviNNagar as RaamAvathAran uttered the sacred words at Sethukkarai that defined His vow to protect anyone , who sought His refuge even once . The Lord of ThiruviNNagaram as KrishNAvathAran uttered HIs ThU Mozhi of Charama slOkam and assured Arjuna freedom from fear after performing prapatthi to Him . ThiruviNNagrappan as BhUvarAhan spoke the ThUmozhi of VarAha Charama slOkam in response to the plea of BhU Devi to save their suffering children from SamsAric afflictions . He performed upadEsam for BrahmA on the ThU Mozhi of the sacred Vedams . Thus , the Lord of ThiruviNNagaram is the originator of many sacred utternaces . Reflecting on all these anugrahams and upadEsams , Kaliyan addresses the Lord as ThUmozhiyAi in this Paasuram . Kaliyan through the benefit of ripe Jn~Ana yOgam was able to experience the presence of ThiruviNNagarappan as the Param JyOthi in his heart lotus . Kaliyan experienced ThiruviNNagarappan as the antharyAmi Brahman and saluted Him as " JyOthishAm JyOthi: " , the Light of Lights . Mundaka Upanishad salutes this " Sudar JyOthi " as " Him the shining One , every thing shines after , by this light all this is lighted ( tamEva BhAndham anubhAthi sarvam tasya bhAsA sarvam idham vibhAthi ) . ChAndhOgya Upanishad ( III.12.6) reveals the connection between the " Sudar JyOthi " inside the heart lotus as antharyAmi Brahman and the Supreme light ( JyOthi) shining in Sri Vaikuntam : " Now the light which shines above this heaven , above all , above every thing , in the highest worlds beyond which there are no higher worlds , verily , that is the same as the light which is here within the person " . This explanation is endorsed by BadarAyaNA's Brahma Soothram : " JyOthis-charaNAbhidhAnaath " It means that the cosmic light is Brahman because of the reference to the part or feet in the Upanishad ( Brhaman has four parts ) : " Such is the greatness of it : greater than it is the Supreme Person . One foot or aprt of it represents all the beings in the universe , while the other three parts ( thripAdh ) are in immortal higher domain ( amrutham dhivi ) . The same supreme Being , who is connected with the other three-quarters of the higher abode is referred to in the ChAndhOgya Upanishad as the light connected with the higher domain (atha parO dhivO jyOthi ) . Kaliyan holding the spear with the stains of war with the enemies of the BhagavathAs has sung these paasurams in praise of ThiruviNNagarappan . Those who learn and reflect upon these ten pasurams on ThiruviNNagarappan by Kaliyan will become emperors here on earth and will reach Sri Vaikuntam at the end of their life to join the ghOshti of the Nithya Sooris to serve the Lord there .
