AzhwAr confessed that he was afraid of being overtaken by the eyes of beautiful women , which would hit him as arrows and decommission him from his upAsanaa of the Lord . To escape these powerful arrows , AzhwAr admitted that he ran in great haste and arrived at the Lord's sacred feet for protection against them . ThiruviNNagarappan laughed and asked AzhwAr a question : " Namm Kaliyaa ! You say that you ran to Me because of fear about the effect of the glances of the beautiful women , which would have the effect of powerful arrows on you . What if you were held under their sway ? Are you concerneed that the blissful anubhavam of Mine as Your Lord and amrutham ( kOnAy thEnAna Yenn anubhavam ) will escape you ? You could have surely gained it a little later after enjoying that SiRRinbham . Did you consider that possibility ? AzhwAr was upset by the Lord's teasing and expained with all sincerity the dangers that would have befallen him , had he followed that path : sAnthEnthu men-mulayAr taDam thOL puNar inbha veLLatthu AazhnthEn aru-narahatthu azhunthum payan padaitthEn pOnthEn PuNNIyanE Unnai yeythi yenn thee-vinaikaL theernthEn NinnadainthEn ThiruviNNagarAnE - - - Periya Thirumozhi : 6.3.4 (Meaning ) : Oh ThiruviNNagarappA ! in the past , adiyEn did indeed immerse myself in the flood of aanandham that resulted from embracing the broad shouldered ladies adorned with red sandal paste on their breasts as decoration . adiyEn created for myself the phalan of falling in the fearsome narakams for a long time due to my chasing of such siRRinbham and forgetting You and our relationship . Oh PuNya Moorthy ! adiyEn avoided this trap and rushed instead towards You through the development of Svaroopa Jn~Nam , VivEkam and VairAgyam . After reaching Your sacred feet , all my sins got burnt down without trace just as a bale of cotton that fell inside roaring fire . adiyEn has become pure ( Suddhan) and have clung to Your sacred Thiruvadi as my parama prApyam and ultimate PurushArTam . Special Notes : Thirumangai recognizes women as MangaLa Moorthys . There is no dhOsham that he attributes to them . He recognizes their soundharyam and worries about his weaknesses . Thirumangai performs upadEsam as an AchAryan for us and points out that we have to recognize our dhOshams and stay away from temptations that would land us in places other than the Lord' sacred feet . Once we develop VairAgyam , ThiruviNagarappan will do the rest and get us to his KshEthram ; the rest of the path in the efforts to gain Moksham is rendered easy for us by Him . In the next three Paasurams , Thirumangai declares his vow not to seek any other gods except ThiruviNNagarappan for His rakshaNam . He resoundingly declares : " MaRROr dhaivam yeNNEn , Dhaivam piRithu aRiyEn , MaRROr dhaivam thEREn Unnai allAl " . Oh Vaikunta Naatha giving Your MangaLa darsanam at Your dhivya dEsam of ThiruviNNagar in ChOLa dEsam ! When are You going to bless me with the boon of nithya Vaasam in Your supreme abode of Sri Vaikuntam ? Sathya KaamA ! Sathya SankalpA ! GuNa PoorNA ! Please guide me in a way that the fruits of my SaraNAgathy are realized .
