The SthOthra Granthams of our PoorvAchAryAs are treasure houses of

PoorvAchAryaas are built upon the foundation of Vedic authority and

PrasthAna Thraya : Upanishads , Brahma SoothrAs and the Lord's own

Bhagavath GithA . They derive further inspiration from Tamil Vedams( MaRais)

and one can spend a life time learning them , reciting them and reflecting on them

and nurturing them as our Kula dhanams .

 

adiyEn seeks asmath AchAryan's anugraham to write about this series ,

which will introduce two releases by Sri Vilakkoli PerumaaL VedAntha

Desikar Charitable Trust (VPVDCT) formed with the twin goals of :

 

(1) Raise Funds to conduct uninterrupted NithyArAdhana

Kaimkaryam at Swamy Desikan's Sannidhi at His avathAra Sthalam

 

(2) Conduct special uthsavams like AnushtAna KuLa Uthsavam

and Sri AppuLLAr Thirunakshathram every year with Veda PaarAyaNam

and traditional SaaRRumuRais in front of Lord VaradarAjan and

AchArya RaamAnuja , who travel to Swamy Desikan's sannidhi at

ThUppul avathara Sthalam .

is well known to many of You as a Member of the Board of VPVDCT

Trust located at 14 SBI Officers Colony , Aynavaram , Chennai 600 023.

The above Trust has joined with Sri Sookthi PrachaariNi Sabhaa of

Singapore to release the following two most recent audio CDs :

 

1) A set of Two Audio CD ROMs on 25 of the 28 SthOthra Granthams

bequeathed to us by Swamy Desikan . That covers all but three sthOthrams

of the 28 sthOthrams of Swamy Desikan ( NyAsa Vimsathi , Achyutha Sathakam

and Garuda PanchAsath ). They may be released seperately as third volume

later .

 

2) A VCD about Swamy Desikan's MangaLAsAsanam of PerAruLALan

( Lord Varadaraajan ) . AdiyEn will write about that later to permit me to

focus on the sthOthra Granthams first .

 

The Officers of Sri Sookthy PracharaNi Sabha of Singapore , the co-sponsor of

these two audio CD ROMs of Swamy Desikan's SthOthrams has introduced

them this way :

no introduction to AasthikAs . The profound and highly philosophical meanings

embedded in his stotras ought to be learnt and enjoyed by Asthikas within their

lifetime , as they have the potency to lead us towards unblemished and unending

joy , both during our stay in this materialistic world and beyond . Considering

the fast paced and global life that we all lead today , where many of us are unable to

learn these stotras directly from an Acharya , the need to have these stotras in

paatam (santhai) style was felt .

 

When thsi request was made to Sri . U. Ve . Satakopa Tatacharya Swamy just

a month ago , he took up this project and with unbridled enthusiasm , working

day and night , to come up with this invaluable treasure within such a short

span of time . Credit also goes to his colleague Dr.O.R. Vijayaraghavacharya ,

who enacted the role of the learner for the effectiveness of the recording .
