Dear BhakthAs of Swamy Desikan :

 

Before adiyEn writes in detail about these 25 sthOthrams covered by

the Two CD ROMs in the traditional Santhai Format for learning sthOthrams ,

let me comment on the value of these two CD ROMs .

 

We have already audio recordings of the Sthothrams of Swamy Desikan

for listening and enjoying . These two CD ROMs are unique in that

it has adopted the format of a Teacher splitting the different paadhams of

the individual verses of the SthOthram and reciting them ; the student

repeats twice what the teacher recited . This is called the Santhai

method , which has been used in an unfailing manner for centuries

to help students learn the SthOtra Paatams and dhivya Prabhandhams .

This way one acquires the right pronunciation and the places to stop .

Then the student recites by himself or herself to retain what he or she has

learnt . It is ideal for children as well .

 

SrimAn SatakOpa TatachAr has covered the Santhai style rendering of

the 690 slOkams of the 25 SthOtrams of Swamy Desikan . The three

sthOtrams not included with the number of slOkams in paranthesis are:

Achyutha Sathakam (101 ) in PrAkrutham , NyAsa Vimsathy ( 22) and

Garuda PanchAsath (52 ) . Barring these 175 SlOkams , the rest of

the 687 slOkams from 25 SthOtrams are covered in these two CD ROMs.

This is a monumental achievement .
