Guest guest
SrI : Dear Sriman Narender Reddy : Thanks very much for your queries and pointers . Recently , Srimathy Saranthan and Sri M.G.Vasudevan posted a series of well researched articles on Srimad RaamAyaNam and the age of Raamaa , when he went to the forest and when he married . One could see the complexities in that effort . It is not easy to date the VedAs and IthihAsAs . There has been a lot of efforts from both the traditional point of view and by others . None of them are converging . Your viewe fits with the traditional approach .I am with you on it . Those who have done There is a view that humans have been on this earth for only 25,000 years . That date keeps being pushed back . Anway , for the sake of respect for the traditional view , please disregard the dates for the VedAs and IthihAsams, Upanishads in this posting . Rest from MahA Veer and BuddhA's time onwards are fine . Thanks for your understnading , V.Sadagopan - Narender Reddy sgopan ; saranagathi-owner Tuesday, July 12, 2005 3:56 PM Re: Saranagathi A peep into thousand years of the history of Sri VaishNavam : Part IV Jai Sriman Narayana! Pranams! Do you really believe that Ramayana took place 1200 BC and not in Thretha Yuga (more than 8.5 million years ago) as mentioned in Srimath Bhagavatham? Do you also believe that the Maha Bharatha war took place in 900 BC and not in 3133 BCE? If you believe that the war took place in 900 BC then is it only 2973 years since the beginning of kaliyuga. The traditional belief is that current year is 5106 th year of Kaliyuga and kaliyuga started 32 years after the war. If your date of 900 BC is accepted, that means we have to reject the current Panchangam which sates that this year is 5106 of Kaliyuga and it is 1.95 billion years on the earth since the morning in Bramha Loka. Thank you.
