It will be intersting to hear from Sriman Desikan

about the 16 Aayudhams held by this adhbhutha

Narasimha Moortham at Singar koil .

 

It will be intersting to know whether those 16 weapons are

the same as those in the hands of Sudarsanar since there is

tight coupling between Sudarsanar ( Sankalpa sakthi of Narasimhar)

and Lord Narasimhan Himself at this Narasimha KshEthram , which is

PurANa PrasiddhaM .

 

The Fourth Pattam Azhagiya Singar with BrundhAvanam at

Singar Koil is HH SrinivAsa YathIndhra MahA DEsikan , who occupied

the Sri Matam Peetam for 8 years and 3 months since January , 1485 .

He had travelled extensively in the North visiting DhwArakai , Gokulam ,

BrundhAvanam , Madhurai , AyOddhi and stayed at Singar Koil during

his last days . As he became ill , he worried one day about his successor to

continue NrusimhArAdhanam and fell asleep . During his dream that night ,

Lakshmi Narasimahn appeared before the Azhagiya Singar and told him

not to worry and that his successor will be arriving shortly . At the same

time , Lakshmi Narasimhan appeared in the dreams of the successor and

commanded him to rush to Singar KOil to succeed the 4th Pattam

Azhagiya Singar . The future 5th Pattam Azhagiya Singar was an authority

on all SaasthrAs and was born at KaNDalUr in AathrEya Gothram . He arrived

at Singar Koil on April 1493 ( KrishNa dhvitheeyai) and prostrated before

the 4th Pattam Azhagiya Singar and described his dream . The 4th Pattam

Azhagiyasingar was thrilled over the Lord's leelais and performed

PrEksha Mantra UpadEsam to his successor and attained the Lord's

Thiruvadi free of worries about the continuation of NrusimhArAdhanam .

The 5th Pattam Azhagiya Singar was given the name of Sarva tantra Svatantra

SaThakOpa MahA Desikan .

SrinivAsa Munim vandhE SribhAshyAmrutha Saagaram .
