SrI:

Dear Devotees of Lord Hayagrivan :

I am enclosing a Moorthy of Lord Hayagrivan

worshipped by Tibetan Buddhists and other Tantric

worshippers .

In our SampradhAyam , Lord HayagrIvan has always the hue of

Suddha Sphatika SankAsan (i-e) Pure white Sphatikam

( Blemishless White Crystal ) reminding us of the rays of the Moon .

He is saluted as Chandra Madhyagan ( seated at the center of the Moon)

in one of the Hayagriva Kavacha Manthrams . We beseech that

Chandra Madhyagan to protect our lalADam ( Forehead) .

Here is the Body of Sri HayagrIva Kavacham from Atarva Vedham

***********************************************************************************

It seeks protection from head to foot from different forms of

HaygrIvan . It also seeks protection from different directions.

The Text below is to be recited after reciting NyAsa Manthrams

and BheejAksharams as well as the DhyAna SlOkams posted

in the previous postings . Upto 15 slOkams , the protection for

the various limbs & faculty are sought along with protection from

any dangers originating from different directions for oneself ,

wife , children and relatives . Through fifteen slOkams ,

the links are made between the objects of protection

( Head , Forehead , eyes , Vrdic knowledge , faculty of smell ,

chin , rows of teeth , face , Tongue , Lips , Neck , NaaDi sTAnams,

Heart lotus , hands , mid section , Stomach , Taste , Generative organ ,

Thigh , knees , sole of feet and the nails of the feet et al ) and

the various forms of HayagrIvan ( Chandhra Madhyagan , Saasthra

dhrushti , SabdhAthmakan , GandhAthmakan , Yaj~na Sambhavan,

Vaagheeswaran , Mukundhan , BrahmAthmakan , NaarAYaNan ,

SivAthmakan , KamalA Prabhu , NaadhAthmakan , VidhyAthmakan ,

Chathurbhujan , Jn~AnAthmakan , ViswAthmakan , SarvAthmakan ,

PeethAmbharan , Madhusoodhanan , PadmanAbhan , MahA VishNu ,

JanArdhanan , DhAmOdharan , Thrivikraman , Hari , Kesavan ,

HrusheekEsan , VaayvAthmakan , Viswa KudumBhee , SurEswaran ,

Chidh-gana-prabhan , VaruNAthmakan , NaaDeegathan , MithrAthmakan ,

VyOmAthmakan , Jagath Guru , Jagath Swamy et al) . Lord HayagrIvan is

recognized as the indweller of BrahmA , Sivan , Agni , Vaayu , AakAsam

and DasAvathAran . The NaamAs such as Vaagheeswaran , Saasthra

dhrushti , Chidh-gana-Prabhan are references to His Tatthvam as

Sakala VidhyA Aadharathvam .

The 16th slOkam points out that the invocation of

the different forms of Lord Hayagreevan on the different

limbs of the body and mind thru the nyAsam provided by

this kavacham will make one a veritable Hayagreevan

besides conferring long life , health and ability to discourse

on all Saasthrams .

The last (17th) slOkam assures us that there should be

no doubt on this matter due to the grace of Lord HayagrIvan

and the power of the divine Kavacham worshipped by the DevAs .
