Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs : I am forwarding a moving appeal from the Thiruvaheendhrapuram Mahaa Mantapam construction Committee Chairman , Sri Soundararajan Desikan Swamy . Please join in this Kaimkaryam and accelerate the rest of the construction . Details are available at : http://www.srikainkarya.org If you are not in India and wish to participate from USA , please let em know so that I can be of help. Thank you , V.Sadagopan ******************************************************** ******************************************************** Dear Asthikas/Bhakthas : You all, know, that the first phase of Mandap at a cost of Rs 2--45 lakhs was completed at Sri Oushatadri, Sri Hayagreevar Temple ,Thiruvaheendrapuram with the financial assistance from all of you . Sevarthis are taking shelter here and Swami Desikan , the presiding deity of the Kshetra Lord Sri Devanatha, Sri Hayagreevan give darshan from this mandap during uthsavams. This is going on every year. 24th September 2004--Purattasi-sravanam-Oushathagiri- *********************************************************** Swami Desikan climbed the Hills in the early morning to perform Mangalasasanam of Lord Sri Hayagreeva to the accompaniment of countless devotees/Bhaagavathaas Nathaswarams & thavils. After pradakshanam of outer and inner praakaara, Swami Desikan came & sat on the small four pillar mandapam facing Sri Hayagreeva . Vedadyayees completed Vedaprayanam( part) . Prasadams were brought and offered to Sri Hayagreevan and Swami Desikan. Garland,Parivattam came from Sri Hayagreeva to Swami Desikan and these Maryathaas were offered to Him. It was just the beginning of offering of Theertham from Sri Hayagreevan to Swami Desikan. At that juncture there was heavy down-pour of rain for over half-an -hour. Sevaarthis who was at the Ist phase of Mandap , kainkaryaparas under the narrow lengthy walking -way got protection from the rains whereas other devotees such as men and women, aged, sick, old ladies, young ladies at the family way, children eagerly waiting to recite Garuda thandagam etc slokams , including ourselves sheltered under the coconut leaves pandal completely soaked in the rains. At that time some of them known to me said to me ( Srikainkarya) : " You see the sufferings of devotees/ Sri Hayagreeva Bakthas in the rain . Some Baghavathas did not have even dhoti/ angavasthra to change vasthra. They came here to have darshan of Lord Sri Hayagreeva Swami Desikan and to have Saaththumurai theertham , sadari and prasadam.. You see their pitiable condition. Why can't you construct a Mahamandapam fully covering the area where devotees were shivering due to heavy rain? " I did not expect such a request from the devotees at that particular movement. I did not know what to do / what to say that too in the divine presence of Swami Desikan and Sri Hayagreevan. I did not consult anyone even my wife. I took it as a command from Sri Hayagreevan . I said with folded hands even at the time of commencing the first phase , this was thought of (Taking the entire construction) but I was afraid of heavy involvement of money, and fearing that I am not be suitable for this, I took up part of the entire area and Sri Hayagreevan And Swami Desikan used me as an instrument to complete the first phase. They said that even now you can take the final stage and you will be an instrument in the divine grace of Acharyan and His Acharyan . I took this as a command of Sri Hayagreevan and replied saying that Srikainkarya will take up the final stage of construction also. Dear Bakthas, this is the background . This was truly happened. A public charitable trust was created, registered and proposals were sent to the Commissioner of In-come tax Pondicherry. Srikainkarya started to send appeals to various people / Business magnets/ others Appeals were sent to the readers of my articles in Sri Desika Seva, purchasers of my various books . There was response , some lukeworm response . Rasikas of my books came forward to donate- small small contribution which in their capacity is big . Srikainkarya accepted them with obeisance . Both of us ( I and my wife ) began to go and meet people . Sri Hayagreevan directed one noble-hearted , service-minded devotee from Nanganallur who helped previously, to assist now also . Sri Hayagreevan introduced another pious person with helping tendency, well- versed in Karnataka Sangeetam devotee from T.Nagar to partake in this kainkaryam and to share the services with us. Sri Hayagreevan sent His upasakar from U.S. to contact srikainkarya through internet. How can I explain the leelas of Sri Hayagreevan ! This upasakar is a multi-faceted , noble , divine-hearted, gem of all arts in vaishnava philosophy-that too Sri sookthis of Swami Desikan. Upon his suggestion & advice it is setforth as follows : The cost of construction per ten sq.ft. comes to Rs 3200/-or 75 u.s.dollars. Bakthas/devotees can contribute even like this . This will also help in the construction .. The idea is to complete the construction as quickly as possible and to have darshan of Swami Desikan , Sri Hayagreevan and the presiding deity Sri Devanathan in the Mahamandap because the life-span ( of ours ) is small and it is not possible to worship in this Maha ( Mani) Mandapam if we depart from this material world once and for all before the completion. Whatever it is in Paramapatham ( Vaikuntam), this archavathra seva in this Mahamandapam cannot be enjoyed . This is unparalleled Dear Asthikas! Let us join together in this noble cause. Let us shoulder the service with Srikainkarya ! Let us see that the construction is completed soon. Let us have darshan of Sri Hayagreevan , Swami Desikan , asif it is Vaikunta . Let us have paripoorna anugraham of Sri Hayagreeva Paramapathanathan, Sriman Narayanan would ask us when we climb Visakshana(Dharmaathi peetam) during paryanga vidya about the darshan of Archamoorthis of Sri Hayagreevan , Swami Desikan , Adiyavarkku Meyyan. Let us answer with immense pleasure :YES . Dasan Srikainkarya Thiruvaheendrapuram Uruppattur Chakravarthi Soundararajan
