Perhaps, Brahma too, like Hiranya, thought that he had a " waterproof " case and that Hiranya was indestructible. It is possible that Narasimha's Jwala rose all the way to Brahma's Satya Loka to show Brahma that Narasimha could destroy Hiranya in spite of Brahma's boons! Nrusimha Poorva Taapani Upanishad says that Maha Vishnu first came before Brahma as Narasimha and taught Brahma the Narasimha Anushtup Mantra, with which Brahma created the universe. The Jwala of Narasimha, reaching up to Satya Loka, perhaps wanted to show Brahma that Narasimha's powers, which helped create the universe, are also capable of destruction!
