Dear Swamy Desika BhakthAs :

 

We will study FIFTEEN more of Swamy Desika Sahasra Naamams( 666-680 ) in

the next posting in this series .

 

At the completion of that set of Fifteen , we would have covered 747 Swamy Desika

Sahasra NaamAs .

 

Thanks to NaavalpAkkam Dr. VasydEvAcchAr Swamy , adiyEn has learnt a lot , which

adiyEn attempted to share with You all with adiyEn's own limitations in Jn~Anam .

 

After the coverage of the 747 nAmAs todate , we would have 261 more nAmAs (25.9% )

of the total 1008 nAmAs of Swamy Desika Sahasra Naama . The 261 nAmAs to be

covered fall under two Major Categories of SrI Sookthis of Swamy Desikan :

 

1. Satha DhUshaNi ( 67 NaamAs ): a polemical classic of VisishtAdvaitha

VedAnthA devoted to the criticism of the key assumptions of Adhvaitha VedAntha .

 

2. Tatthva Muktha Kalaapa (194 NaamAs ) dealing with the important issues

associated with the Philosophy of VisishtAdhvaithA -- " Its basic ontological

and epistemological approach , the concept of individual Self , God and

Universe , the idea of Saadhana and Mukthi and the doctrine of substance

and attribute".

 

Both are intellectually tantalizing creations of the Master Logician ,

Swamy Desikan, to defend the VisishtAdhvaitha Darsanam against

the onslaughts of Para Mathams .

 

In the next posting in this series , adiyEn will cover the fifteen Sahasra NaamAs

( 666-680) and move thereafter to the coverage of Tatthva Muktha KalApa and

Satha DhUshaNi .
