Daasan , V.Sadagopan ***************************************************************************************** Lineage of Preceptors in Vedaanta system of philosophy Visistaadvaita is Vedaanta system of philosophy. Vedaanta refers to the Upanishads and the naalaayira divya prabandams taken collectively as ubhaya Vedaanta. Bhagavath raamaanuja yatiraaja swami at the start of the commentary on the brahma sutras, asserts, "The extensive commentary on the brahma sutras, which was composed by the sage Bodhaayana has been condensed by former teachers; according to their views the terms of the sutras will be explained in this work (Sri bhaashya)". Bhagavath raamaanuja yatiraaja swami accomplished what he asserted. This is strength that the Vedaanta system of philosophy namely Visishtaadvaitam has in terms of authority (source of knowledge). The ten Azhwaars have guarded the same through their divya prabandams (24 in number), which manifested as outburst of their experiences that they had with the supreme self Sriman Narayana. This is the strength that the Vedaanta system of philosophy namely Visishtaadvaitam has in terms of "sampradaayam", the time tested implementation of the Vedaantam. The same was preserved and preached by the uninterrupted lineage of preceptors starting with Sriman Narayanan Himself. In this era, Swami Srimath Satakopa-Nammaazhwaar became the first preceptor in the earth. He was followed by Sriman Naathamuni through a lineage and by divine manifestation of Srimath Satakopa. This lineage continued to Srimath Yaamuna muni and Srimath Bhagavath Raamaanuja muni. Then, the Vedaanta system of philosophy also known as Sri Sampradaayam was preserved by none other then Vedaanta-udayana-Aachaarya who is SrI pranathaartiharAchaarya otherwise known as Kidaampi Aachaan who served intimately to Bhagavath Raamaanuja muni in his divine kitchen and was the most blessed disciple with wisdom in entirety of Bhagavath Raamaanuja muni. SrImath Vaadi-hamsaambuvaahAchaarya also known as kidaampi appullaar incarnated in his divine ancestry. He was the maternal uncle of Srimath Vedaanta Desikan. This lineage flourishes till date spreading Visistaadvaita - Sri Vaishnavam - Sri Sampradayam. Sri Sukti Pracharini Sabha Sri Sukti Pracharini Sabha is a registered organization. Its objective is to preserve and spread the works of the preceptors of Vedaanta system of philosophy. The term Sri in Sri Sukti Pracharini Sabha signifies divinity of this system. The term Sukti refers to the divine works of preceptors. Pracharini Sabha refers to organization which spreads the divine works of preceptors of Vedaanta system of philosophy. There are various types of works, which have to be preserved and passed to the future generations. Swami Desika at the end of Rahasya Ratnavali Hrudayam asserts the types of works composed by him propounding the Vedaanta system of philosophy. These works which have come out by the divine blessings of our preceptors are ornaments of Vedaatam personified as lady united with her lord Sriman Narayana. They are accepted by great scholars with full reverence. The types of these works include condensed form, detailed form, easily compiled, works for those interested in deep analysis, independent works, analysis of works of others, commentaries and works suitable for easy teaching. The unique greatness of our preceptors' works is described by Swami Desika in Sri Yathiraaja Sapthathi as follows: The works of our preceptors like Bagawath Raamanuja bedeck the Sruti personified as queen who has her lord Sriman Narayana in her domain. Swami Desika in Tattva Navaneetham speaks about the divinity of the works of our preceptors. These precious works are comparable to the pristine paanchajanya conch of Sriman Narayana who has insentient and sentient beings as his body, who incarnated as Sri Krishna and destroyed the evils like destroying unwanted weeds in good crops. SriSukti Pracharini Sabha is for preserving and spreading these unparalled and unsurpassed works of our preceptors.
