Dear Asthikas/Devotees of Sri Hayagreeva

The philosophical and religious

literature should be studied with dedication and

devotion by the students under an efficient and

qualified Acharyan with complete faith in the

subject taught. What is taught by the teacher to the

student should be absolutely free from all defects

like undue partiality for something or desoicable

prejudice against another. Love for truth and devotion

to Bhagvan must be the sine non in matters connected

with religion. In due course of time , there will be

difference of opinion which will create a division in

the parent body . The religion will be the same ,

still division will come. In Vaishnavism , we face

such a division.

Swami Desikan declares that the

diffrences are only apparent and superficial and they

can easily be explained which come in two ways

1.With reference to fundemental doctrines

regarding the nature of the TATTVAS or REALS

2. With reference to the observance of some

religious rites

Different religious texts may be the

cause of the difference regarding the Tattvas. A close

and more intensive study of all texts will show the

way for reconcilation. As regards rites based on

religious texts , we can say that both are right and

they are optional. Each sect may adopt its own mode of

action based on tradition that has been given to them

from the days of yore and there is no room for rancour

or ill feeling . But in matters which are beyond the

above range, the sastras alone are our guide and in

fact authority. To get correct interpretation ,

sastras should be studied under proper guidence of

dedicated Acharyas, who mastered the sastras correctly

from their Acharyas

The sastras say that Srivaishnava

sampradaya originated from Bhagavan Sriman Narayanan

and after passing through Mahalakshmi, and Sri

Vishvaksena in the divine cadre, developed in the

world through ancient Sages ( Rishis) and through Sri

Sadagopan ( Nammalvar) , Sri Nathamuni, Sri

Alavandar, anr Sri Ramanujar and then Swami DEsikan

Swami Desikan establishes the

flawlessness of Vaishnava sampradaya by reconciling

on the basis of sastras the contradictions between two

sects ( Northern and Southern) and bringing harmony.

The doctrines taught are classified as SADASYA and

RAHASYA ,but there is no mutual contradiction between

the two . Swami Desika says that there is no

inconsistency in the doctrines amongst traditions

that pertains to the disciples of Sri Ramanuja and

there is only a difference in the interpretation of

the passages

In the Avatharas of Bhagavan , Sri

Hayagreevan is the first Avathara as it is said that

Ha ( " aa " in tamil ) denotes Akharavachyan .Numerous

examples can be given for this, but all sastras ,

Vedas, Upanishats point out this first Avathara.

Dear Sri Hayagreeva Devotees! Do you know

that a Mahamandap is being constructed at Oushatadri

Sri Hayagreevar temple, Thiruvaheendrapuram , where

Swami Desikan got the Paripoorna Anugraha of Sri

Hayagreevan. Are you eager to partake in the kainkarya

which will shower anugraha of both Acharyan Swami

Desikan and Sri Hayagreevan on you and your family?
