Today’s verse is Periya Thourmizh 1.8.7. kalayaami kalidhvamsam kavim lOkadhivaakaram yaSya kObi: prakaaSaabir aavidhyam niHatham thama: I meditate on the Poet, who is like the Sun for the whole world, to destroy the darkness of ignorance (a~jnAnam) with his word and who destroys the Kali dhOsham. paarunNeererikaaRRinodu aagaasamumivaiyaayinaan, pErumaayiram pEsanNinRa piRappiliperugumidam, kaarumvaarpaninNeeLvisumbidaich chOrumaamugilthOythara, sErumvaarpozhilsoozh ezhilthiruvEngkadamadainNeNYchamE! 1.8.7 The Lord is The Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space (five elements of Nature)- has thousand Divine Names- is NOT bounded by KarmAs; - Such Greatest Lord- Emperumaan is growing here at ThiruvEmkatam, the top of which is hugged by clouds, the snowy droplets falling from the sky, where the clouds land up and take rest on top of this mountain, where fertile gardens surround the lovely ThiruvEmkatam. Oh mind! Reach there. He is the indweller of the five elements and directs them; He manifests in them, controls them. Taittriya Upanshad says: tadh shrushtvaa; tadhanu pravishyaa; tadhEvaanu praavishath; The MahA NaarAyaNa Upanishad manthram salutes appropriately this " Lord (the manifold sustainer ) this way in the same spirit: yasmAth JaathA na parA naiva kimcha- naasa ya aavivEsa bhuvanAni visvA prajApathi: prajayaa samvidhAna- sthrINi jyOthigumshi sachathE sa shOdasI (meaning): The beings born from PrajApathi (Lord Srinivasan) are not separate from Him . He creates all beings, provides them with the ten senses , the five elements constituting their bodies and the three luminous worlds (fire, Sun and Moon ) in which they dwell in and next enters into them as their indwelling supporter and commander(antharyAmi).Before their creation , nothing whatsoever existed other than Him. He created them , gave them names and forms, entered into them and finally became their ultimate destination .Befitting His naamam as " ShOdasi " or the one with 16 Kalais (PrANaa, SraddhA, five elements, indriyA, mind, food, veerya, tapas, mantrA, yaj~nA, the worlds and the names), He identifies with all the creatures of the Universes. This Lord, who has no equal or superior (samAdhika daridhran) is the One, who is described as " idham sarvam poorNam " (all of this prapancham is encompassed/filled by Him). Such Omnipotent Lord Paramapadha nAthan is here at ThiruvEntakam. Oh Mind Reach there-says AzhwAr.
