Sri: Srimathyai Gothayai Nama:11/01/2006, Wedenesday: : Koodarai Vellum Pasuram of TiruppavaiSPECIAL OFFERING OF 100 TADAS OF SARKARAI PONGAL TO OUR LORD ON THAT DAYIn the 27th pasuram of Tiruppavai, Sri Andal Nachchiyar talks about the 'Sanmaanams' we receive by observing the Margazi Nonbu and surrendering at the Lotus Feet of Sriman Narayanan. A beautiful paasuram, which can be more enjoyed by juxtaposing with the second paasuram, 'Vaiyathu VaazhveergaL', in which she describes the dos and dont's of observing the Margazhi Nonbu.In the 27th pasuram , Sri Andal talks about various jewels and new dress that we would wear and the delicious food that we would eat as part of the Lord's Gift to us on completion of the 'Nonbu'. The food is the rice boiled in milk (Paal Soru), hidden in pure ghee, and while eating the ghee should melt to the heat of the food and flow through the hand to reach the elbow. What a fantastic description of a delicious food of a prasadam!Hence, this day is celebrated in all temples and Panchangams and calendars mark this day as 'Koodarai Valli'. Sri Andal, in her second Prabandham, 'Naachchiyar Tirumozhi' desires through one of her paasurams dedicated to the Lord of Tirumaliruncholai (Kallazhagar, Madurai) to offer 100 Tadas (a big vessel) of Butter and yet another 100 Tadas of Akkaravadisil. To celebrate the grand creativity, devotion and ambitious offering to Her Lord by Sri Andal, the world gathers together in Lord Sriman Narayanan's temples to offer 100 Tadas (in miniature form) of Akkaravadisil on this day.Thiruvengadamudaiya TiruvadigaLe Saranam.
