Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest all, Let us continue to enjoy Thirumangai AzhwArs wonderful verses on Thiruvenkatamudiayaan. kalayaami kalidhvamsam kavim lOkadhivaakaram yaSya kObi: prakaaSaabir aavidhyam niHatham thama: I meditate on the Poet, who is like the Sun for the whole world, to destroy the darkness of ignorance(a~jnAnam) with his word and who destroys the Kali dhOsham. Let us enjoy Periya Thirumozhi 9.9.9 on ThiruvEnkatam. Prelude to this ten: AzhwAr had pleaded Emperumaan to get him rid of the worldly life to attain Emperumaan. It did not happen. AzhwAr loses himself and gets into Parakala nAyaki bhAvam, when she has already had experience of uniting with the Lord and the Lord has now deserted her. Due to her suffering, she is not able to express herself and the ?mother? of Parakala nAyaki speaks. valampuri yaazhi yaNnaivarai yaar_thiraL thOLaNnRaNnNnai, pulampuri nNoolava Nnaippozhil vENGgada vEdhiyaNnai, chilambiya laaRudai yathiru maaliruNY chOlainNiNnRa, nNalanNthigazh nNaaraNa NnainNaNu kuNGgoleNn nNaNnNnuthalE! 9.9.9 The One who has the Divine ChakrA and the Conch on His resplendent strong mountain like shoulders; who has worn the thread (pooNool), the darshan of which is the great enjoyment for all; who stands at ThiruvEmkata malai; who is the essence of Vedas; -is here at ThirumaalirunchOlai, - the personification of all auspicious qualities, Narayanan- will my girl be able to approach Him? Here AzhwAr refers to the name NARAYANAN… Naaraanaam ayanam yasya sa: He is the essence of all Vedas; Veda Vaedhyan; He is the Lord with no imperfections; he is the Lord of infinite kalyANa GuNAs; Uttering or reading Narayanaanuvaakam, Purusha sooktham, Upanishads- one would realise the Supreme Lord unambiguously; though Vedas mention about Surya, Brahma, Rudra, Agni Indra et al, the words need to understood by looking at the statement before and after and to be understood in overall context to avoid getting misled. It can all be clearly understood [says Alavandhar] that these words all refer to You- Narayana. [These verses are to be read as addressed to Narayana to praise His Supremacy and also in order to clear the confusion of half baked VaidIka as well. Sthothra Ratnam verse 12 refelcts the same essence in crystal clear manne Ka:sree: sriya: paramasattva samaasraya ka: Ka:puNdareeka nayanah purushOtthama ka: Kasyaayuthaayuthasathaika kalaamsakaamSE Viswam vichithra cidhachith pravibhaaga vrittam. [12] Who is Lord of even SrI:? Who is Her sole Master? Who is the SrI of SrI? Who is the personification and repository, as well as nirvaahakan of Sattva guNA? Who is the red lotus eyed Lord beyond compare? Who is the PurshOtthaman- above all beings- chief of Purusaas- Purushaanaam Utthaman.. whose billionth and billionth of minutest part of one small portion of Your multi-folded and manifold powers, is this entire universe- including jeeva and matter in different states and existence, functioning? There are many statements in Vedas declaring creation of this world.. if one tries to analyze them in totality without violating any of these statements with each other, then one would realize that Sriman Narayanan alone is cause for of this manifested worlds. Creator is Brahma; and protector is Vishnu- you may argue. One has to look at Purushasooktham; It is the grandest of all sruthis; it is there in all Vedas; There only Sriman Narayanan is mentioned as Purushan. He is the Lord of BhUmA Devi and Sree Devi- says Purusha sooktham. Upanishads in one voice have declared that Sriman Narayanan is the Paradevatha; This kind of scriptural authority is not at all found in support of other demi gods in Upanishads. In swEthaswathOra Upanishad, yEkO Rudra: viSwAdhikO Rudra: are mentioned; But even there Purusha sooktha mantras are mixed; VedaahamEtham purusham mahaantham- naanya: panthA ; PurusEna sarvam- etc.. Who grants Sattva guNA correctly?- it is uttered here as : mahaan prabhurvai purusha satvasyaisha pravarrthaka: means: Narayanan – Purusha is the One who blesses with Sattva gunA; It is very clear to all that BrahmA is the master of rajasa guNA; Rudra, Thamasa guna and Vishnu – Satva guNA. If one is blessed with a glance [kataaksham] of Vishnu at his birth, he is supposed to be a saatvIkI- and is blessed with Madhusoodhana kataaksham. Thus, in this Upanishad Rudra word means: the One who destroys Samsaaris affliction- samsaaric disease- namely Sriman Narayanan as Sivan also means- mangaLam- auspiciousness. Thu He alone is Utthama purushan- Chief among Purushas. KaNNan himself declares that in GitA that He is Purusha Utthaman. In GitA, the entire universe is housed in a minutest part of His greatness and glories. Who is He? He is the master and Lord of Sree… He is the Sree of Sree.. Thiruvukkum Thiruvaagiya selvan. She is His [Vishnu] PathnI and He is Sriya: Pathi. Have no doubts. He alone is the Lord; He alone can grant mOksha; The Supreme Lord is only Sriya: Pathi Sriman Narayanan- declares Sage Veda Vyasa… . What a brilliant verse – by Sri YamunAchArya! Thirumangai AzhwAr ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam Regards Namo Narayana dAsan
