Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest all, Let us continue to enjoy Thirumangai AzhwArs wonderful verses on Thiruvenkatamudiayaan. kalayaami kalidhvamsam kavim lOkadhivaakaram yaSya kObi: prakaaSaabir aavidhyam niHatham thama: I meditate on the Poet, who is like the Sun for the whole world, to destroy the darkness of ignorance(a~jnAnam) with his word and who destroys the Kali dhOsham. Let us enjoy Periya Thirumozhi 10.1.2 on ThiruvEnkatam. In the last ten AzhwAr enjoyed the sowlabhyam of Emperumaan showing Himself at ThirukkOttiyoor. Now here AzhwAr pays his obeisance to various Divya Desams PerumAL in one ten. [Our verse on ThiruvEnkatam] 2. ponnai, maamaNiyai aNiyaarndhadhOr minnai* vEmkatatthu ucchiyil kaNdu pOi* ennai yaaLudai Isanai enpiraan thannaich* chenRu kaaNdum thaNkaavilE.. He, who is sought after desirously like the Gold; who is like the lost valuable maNi (gem stone); who shines like the lightning; who is at the top of ThiruvEmkata mountain to whom we paid our obeisance [yesterday] and who enslaved us and rules us,- who is our parama upakaarakan (most merciful one); - [Today], let us go and pay our obeisance to Him and ThirutthaNkaa. This pon [gold]; maNi [gem] reminds me of the most popular Oppiliappan pAsuram [verse] of NammAzhwAr: ponnappan; maNiappan; mutthappan; ennappan; than oppAril appan… Oppiliappan [the unparalleled and unsurpassed Father; He does not have anyone equal to Him; why to talk of Superior? Oppilappan (Oppilaa Appan ) Koil is known as Thiru ViNNagar or Vaikuntapuri. Here , on the banks of AhOratra Pushkarani, the Lord Of Vaikuntam stands under Suddhaananda Vimanam with his bride Bhoomi Devi. Four Azhwaars have dedicated 47 Pasurams to him and have received His Anugraham. He blesses us even today with His " Panchaavataaram " or five forms (Viz)., Hema (Ponnappan ), Muktha (Mutthappan ), Mani (Maniappan ), Vyoma Pureesan ( ViNNagarappan ) and Matpathi: (Ennappan ) In this Kshetram, He hurried to appear before Nammazhwaar , who was about abandon him out of anger at the Lord for being insensitive to his request to give him Darsanam. Our Lord could not bear with the thought of losing His Parama Bhaktha and rushed to his side and made the Azhwaar enjoy HIS Ananta Kalyaana Gunas and HIS unmatchable beauty. The Azhwaar felt thoroughly appeased and specially blessed and declared : ENNAPPAN ENAKKAYIGULAAI ENNAI PERRAVALAAI PONNAPPAN MANIAPPAN MUTTHAPPANENAPPANUMAAI MINNAPPONMADHIL SOOZH THIRUVINNAGAR SERNDA aPPAN TANNOPPAARILLAPPAN TANTANAN TANATHAAL NIZHALEH Azhwaar describes the Lord as Panchavataaran here and states that the Lord travelled to Thiruvinnagar in search of him to remove his dejection and united with him and gave him the comforting and cool shade of his lotus feet as his solace and refuge.[from Sri Satakopan Swamin’s write up]. I could not resist enjoying Oppiliappan’s glories here.. as He is also traditionally reported to be Srinivasa perumAL as well… Thirumangai AzhwAr ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam Regards Namo Narayana dAsan
