Dearest all,

Let us continue to enjoy AzhwArs wonderful verses on

Thiruvenkatamudiayaan.

BhakthAmrutham viswa janAnumodhanam

sarvArthatham Sri Satakopa Vaangmayam

sahasra SaakOpanishadh samAgamam

namAmyaham Draavida Vedha Saagaram

Meaning ): adiyEn salutes the ocean of Tamizh Vedam ,

which is of the form of Sri SaThakOpan's vaak

(speech/aruLiccheyalkaL). These are linked to the

thousand upanishads and includes in them all the deep

meanings (Taathparyams)of Tatthva-Hitha-PurushArthams

and artha Panchakam. They are nectar to the minds of

the devotees of Sriman NaarAyaNan and they enjoy it

with relish as aparyAthAmrutham [insatiable amirtham].

Today’s ThiruvEnkatam verse is: NammAzhwAr’s

Thiruvaaymozhi 3.3.2

enthai thanthai thanthai thanthaikkum

munthai, vaanavar vaanavar kOnodum,

sinthupoo makizum thiruvENG kadatthu,

antha milpugazk kaarezil aNNalE. 3.3.2

2. ThiruvEnkadamudaiyaan is the Most Grandest Swami

and is the father of my father’s all

forefathers….(when counted to all my past

generations); The richest wealth of my kulam is He,

who is of blue hued

cloudy colour. NitysUris[Anantha, Garuda,Vishvaksenar

et al are paying their obeisance to

ThiruvEnkatamudaiyaan by offering flowers at His Feet.

Traidtions record that when Ramanuja was narrating or

reciting this vrese, he had tears rolling down his

cheeks and disciplies wondered at the anubhavam of

Sribhashyakarar. When enquired, Swami lamented that

the flowers at Thirumala are scattered on the ground

being wasted – sindhoo poo…

Ananthan PiLLai –one of his dicplines immediatelt got

Acharyan ThiruvULLam and wished to perform nandhavana

kaimkaryam at Thirumala and offer flower garlands to

Thirumalai Srinivasan. He was called by EmperumAnAr as

AaaN PiLLai. Thus, Anandaanpillai being the title

given by Emperumanar to his disciple Thirumalai

Ananthazhwan when he spontaneously volunteered to take

up kainkaryam in Tirumalai.

Though nammAzhwAr acknowledges the theory of moksha as

enunciated in Upanishads, he lays greater emphasis on

the theological concept of moksha as eternal divine

service [bhagavath kaimkarya]. This view is

predominantly expressed throughout Thiruvaymozhi of

NammAzhwAr and also in other prabandhams. piLLan

paoints out [for this ten verses] that such a service

[kaimkarya] is to be rendered not only at all times;

but at all places and in all states. This type of

kaimkarya or moksha is the Ultimate Goal [Parama

purushartha], because it is made available to

jeevathman by the Supreme Lord only in the state of

moksha. NammAzhwAr goes to the extent of saying that

he would never seek at any time any other thing than

the ever lasting divine service. [nithya kaimkarya]
