BhakthAmrutham viswa janAnumodhanam

sarvArthatham Sri Satakopa Vaangmayam

sahasra SaakOpanishadh samAgamam

namAmyaham Draavida Vedha Saagaram

 

Meaning ): adiyEn salutes the ocean of Tamizh Vedam ,

which is of the form of Sri SaThakOpan's vaak

(speech/aruLiccheyalkaL). These are linked to the

thousand upanishads and includes in them all the deep

meanings (Taathparyams)of Tatthva-Hitha-PurushArthams

and artha Panchakam. They are nectar to the minds of

the devotees of Sriman NaarAyaNan and they enjoy it

with relish as aparyAthAmrutham [insatiable amirtham].

 

Today’s ThiruvEnkatam verse is: NammAzhwAr’s

Thiruvaaymozhi 3.3.10.

 

thaaLpa rappimaN vathaaviya Isanai,

neeLpo zilkuru koorccada gOpansol,

kEzil aayirath thippatthum vallavar,

vaazvar vaazveythi NYaalam pugazavE. 3.3.11

 

Thirukkurugoor SaThakOpan has sung 1000 pAsurams about

the Lord, who measured the Entire Universe with His

Feet; Out of those Excellent,

unparalleled 1000 pAsurams, those who read these ten

pAsurams ARE DEFINITE to get sakala sowbhAgyams and

also be blessed with mOksham!

 

He took huge form as Trivikrama and spanning is whole

Foot on the whole Universe measuring the same as if

the most fragrant flowers are spread out everywhere on

the earth. In order to let the world reach Him, He is

now standing on Tirumalai mountain so graciously.

Since this ten of Thirukkurhoor SatakOpan is on the

eternal, faultless kaimkarya praapthi prayers, those

who recite this ten will be blessed with the same-

declares AzhwAr. They will be blessed with mOksha

saamraajya and be talked about greatly in this world

too.

 

Reciting this decad which thus talks about the divine

experience everyone can get by praying to the One

above all, Lord Venkatesa at Tirumala, one will be

able to do kaimkaryam to the Lord in numerous ways.

 

Swamy Desikan summarizes the decad as:

The Lord is ever ready to accept prayer, since (1) He

is located at Thirumalai; (2) being able to eliminate

all fatigue through His beauty; (3) He is divinely

beautiful and complete with His red lotus eyes;(4) He

is worshipped in all three worlds; (5) He wards off

all adversaries of those who pay their obeisance to

Him; (6) He alone can grant mOksha to you (7) He can

eliminate all paapams which stand in the way of

attaining Him through saranagati maargam [path of

Surrender] (8) Has such divine red lotus feet which

can snap off samsaaric affliction (9) He enables you

to serve Him at Tirumala before Your senses become

weak rendering you incapable of any service.
