Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Soundararajan Desikan Swamin : You were kind enough to suggest some alternate methods to secure the funds for the construction of the Sanitary Facilities at SriperumbhUthUr . Sri Manoram Chaitanya dasa has provided below the difficulties that he has experienced and the VIEWS OF THE Temple officals in following this route . These problems on ground necessitate us to follow the private funding and maintenance as a preferrable route for this project . Our sincere thanks are to you for suggesting these approaches . During the coming week , there will be intense activity to push this project thru by Sri Manoram Chaitanya Dasa and his team at SriperumbhUthur . We seek your blessings as one who has taken on many such kaimkaryams including the Mahaa Mantapam construction at Thiruvaheendhrapuram . Daasan , Sadagopan The Input from Sri Manoram Chaitanya Dasa *********************************************** Dear Sri Soundarajan Prabhu, (1) The Tamilnadu Tourism Dept sanctioned 4.5 lakhs for this project last year but there has not been an intimation of the funds dispatched from the lower level offices until date. The Temple Executive officer tried corresponding with the office but the exercise was of no avail. He told me that he would not be able to pressurize the Government Officials. Executive Officer also mentioned that there could be a change after the elections and the results can be more negative. (2)The land allocated belongs to the temple. The local Panchayat unions are famous for high profile corruptions. I have a list of stories on them revealed by the locals and temple sub officials about their atrocities in Sriperumbuttur. These corrupt ways impede the good causes and hence we are pushed to a corner. (3) The temple priests also told me that even if the money comes from the Govt. the local politicians have a hand in the tenders allocated for the toilet construction and the same is allocated to their kith and kin from the local political management. Only 50% of the funds are normally used and the rest go into their pockets. (4)Further, the construction jobs are of extremely low quality. It is very rare that a pay and use public toilet is constructed by the panchayat or Govt. as I understand the conditions and maintenance of the toilets is worse. (5) The temple executive officer and the local priests are enthusiastic and excited about this project. They are literally pushing me almost everyday. (6)The local Sriperumbuttur devotees say that we should be supervising the maintenance of the new toilets after its construction as the temple or the local people will surely not maintain the cleanliness and required standards. Hence the investment on the construction of the toilets would certainly go to waste. I will sincerely try approaching the Govt. Officers. I will also explain the prevailing corrupt situation and I am quite sure they can do nothing about improving the local situation as it is out of their purview. Prabhuji,I am presenting the ground realities. Dasanu dasan, Manoram.
