Let us continue to enjoy AzhwArs wonderful verses on

ThiruvEnkatam. Today’s ThiruvEnkatam verse is:

NammAzhwAr’s Thiruvaaymozhi 6.10.2.

 

kooRaay neeRaay nilanaakik

kotuval lasurar kulamellaam

seeRaa eRiyum thirunNEmi

valavaa! theyvak kOmaanE,

sERaar sunaiththaa maraisendhee

malarum thiruvENG kadaththaanE,

aaRaa anpil adiyEnun

adisEr vaNNam aruLaayE. 6.10.2

 

2.EmperumaanE, The Chief of NityasUris! You have the

strongest Divine ChakrA in Your right Hand. What A

strong resplendent shining ChakrA is that! It can cut

the asurA groups into pieces and destroy them, and

burn them to ashes. It shines so brightly with such

ferocity and terrific rage. Oh BhagawaanE The One who

has such a GREAT CHAKRA as Your weapon!

 

ThiruvEnkadatthaanE! Your place Tirumala has Lotus

flowers on the ponds like the beautiful lamps on the

pond. You should bless me (adiyEn, who has devotion

and love for You, Lord) to join You and reach Your

Lotus Feet.

 

Here AzhwAr looks at the lotus flowers in the pond

[swami pushkariNi] and they appear to AzhwAr as if

they are lamps on the pond; He Himself is like forest

of Lotus flowers. Like fresh bloomed lotus flowers,

His eyes are; facial features are; palms and feet are.

He is the master of Nithyasuris.

 

AzhwAr pleads the Lord to bless him [AzhwAr] for

uniting with His Feet. He prays for His pledge.

Goptrutva varanam – as one of five angas of

Saranagati- i.e. Seeking the grace of Sriman

Narayanan as the only hope for attaining the supreme

goal is referred to here.

 

You are standing in Tirumala for granting me the help

pf joining Your Lotus Feet. It is indeed Parama

praapya [Parama purushaarttham- Ultimate Goal] to

perform ceaseless service at Paramapadham. But even

the Nithyasuris who get such a chance always come here

to thirumala to perform their service here and enjoy

His dhivya mangaLa vigraha here. They not only

consider Him at ThiruvEnkatam equal to Paramapadha

nAthan; But even better as He is easily accessible for

all including the mortals like us. Parathvam along

with Sowseelya, Sowlabhya kaashtai is Lord Srinivasan.

AzhwAr asks: when will I even be able to perform my

service and enjoy His Lotus Feet?
