A grand Ratha Yatra festival of Sri Jaggannatha Swami (Lord krsna),Sri Baladeva(Lord balaram),Sri Subhadra devi(Sister of lord krsna) is being organized on the 10th June in the streets of New York. Thousands of Vaishnavas will be present on this wonderful occasion. The Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) is conducted every year in Sri Kshetra (Sri Jagannatha Puri Ksetram in Orissa an important pilgrimage for Vaishnavas). Several lakhs of pilgrims come to take darshan of the lord from all parts of India and it is known to be one of the biggest chariot festivals in India. It is a rare opportunity to have the benefit of Darshan of the Lord adorned on the chariot and pulling the chariot among the street brings unlimited blessings of the lord. The local ISKCON temple in New York is conducting this festival on the 10th of June and this is their 31st Ratha Yatra .The festival starts at 12 pm sharp from the 59th street and 5th avenue, move down the 5th avenue at a good pace and the procession is expected to reach the Washington Square by 2pm. The Ratha is expected to pass the New York Public Library, 42nd avenue around 12.30 pm and pass the Broadway, 5th Avenue intersection at 26th street around 1 pm.
