Sri Hayavadhana ParabrahmaNE Namaha

On behalf of the Sundara Simham Team ,

it is my distinct pleasure to announce

the release of the next four e-books

on the Sri Sookthis of Swamy Desikan .

We have just uploaded all the four ebooks to sundarasimham.

The website address that has links to all four of them is:

http://www.sundarasimham.org/e-booksS2.htm

Individual pages for each are:

Adaikkalappatthu

http://www.sundarasimham.org/ebooks/ebook31.htm

This Sri Sookthi is about Swamy Desikan's SaraNAgathi to

Lord VaradarAjan of Atthigiri ( Kaanchipuram). This is a Tamil

Prabhandham .

Srimath Rahasya Thraya Saaram

http://www.sundarasimham.org/ebooks/ebook32.htm

The 214 Sahasra Naamams of Swamy Desika Sahasra Naamam

composed by Thirukkudanathai Desikan cover the important

Sri Sookthi of Srimath Rahasya Thraya Saaram (SRTS). This is a Masterly

coverage of the 32 chapters of SRTS with just 214 NaamAs .

This e-book will be helpful for those , who wish to get closer to

our ancient SiddhAnthams .

Paramatha Bhangam

http://www.sundarasimham.org/ebooks/ebook33.htm

This scholarly MaNipravALa Sri Sookthi of Swamy Desikan deals

with the soundness of VisishtAdvaitha Darsanam over many other

philosophies ranging from Advaitham to Buddhisam . The sharp intellect

of Swamy Desikan points out the blemishes in Para Mathams and

upholds the soundness of VisishtAdhvaitham with Vedic and other

PramANams .

Prabhanda Saaram

http://www.sundarasimham.org/ebooks/ebook34.htm

Prabhandha Saaram is the essence of the aruliccheyalhaL of the twelve

AzhwArs and Thiruvarangatthu Amudanar , the author of Sri RaamAnuja

NooRRandhAthi. In thsi Tamil Prabhandham , Swamy Desikan establishes

the avathAram details, the AzhwAr Prabhandham details so that there will be

no mix ups in the future . Swamy Desikan prays for the anugrahams of

the individual AzhwArs and AchArya RaamAnuja to bless him with

Jn~Anam about their aruLiccheyalhaL .

Please enjoy them and send us your feedbacks.

Dear Sri Srinivasan :

In the listings of Seven , we explain the Prathi Vaadhi's Paksham

one by one to seet the stage to dismiss them later as inaccurate.

In this context , the 7th item should say : " The Lord without Piratti

alone is ParadEvathai " and in the next para demolish this view like

all the other six . It is thus a set up .

We will keep it this way in the PDF document .

Thanks for asking for clarification .

Re: Desika Sahasra Naamam

SrI:Dear Sriman Sadagopan Mama:Thanks for the wonderful explanation. So that means item 7 is to be : The Lord with his Piratti alone is Paradevathai as you mentioned in the previous mail (and not without as in the PDF version). So here Paradevathai menas supreme. Am I correct? In the word document the numbers 1to 7 are there for this Naamam but in the PDF version, the nunbers are not there. I think Kala has to assign the numbers 1 to 7 and high light number 7.dAsan SrinivasanP Varadhan wrote:

Dear Sri Srinivasan :

In response to your two points ,

1)" The Lord without His Piratti alone is ParadEvathai " is the 7th Matham

and it has to be highlighted in PDF and number 7 has to be given to it .

This is one of the group of 7 Mathams that will be proven unacceptable

in subsequent sections. I am sorry to burden Kala with more work .

2) You have a Very good Question about the 7th Vaadham( Paksham) .

The 7th Paksham (Matham) is referring to TennAchArya and

Madhva SampradhAyam , where they view MahA Lakshmi

as a simple Jeevan or VisEsha Jeevan .JUst hat ! TennAchArya sampradhAyam

recognizes as you know Her PurushakArathvam only . They have

additional problems with accepting the need for performing SaraNAgathy

to BhagavAn Himself or to the dhivya dampathis .They do not go beyond SamAsrayaNam

as you know. Srimath Azhagiya Singar used to joke that some of them ( TennAchArya

SampradhAyins) come to him for performing SaraNAgathy as insurance for Moksham .

As you know , Swamy Desika SampradhAyam believes in Her being both UpAyaam and

UpEyam . It believes in Their Yeka Seshithvam . " SrimAnAna NaarAyaNanE

Para Devathai " is the dictum for Vadakalai sampradhAyins . This goes from Swamy

AlavanthAr down to Swamy Desikan . The answer to the 7th Vaadham is;

"Sriman NaarAyaNan alone is the ParadEvathi and not the Lord without Her" .

Some do not visit GuruvAyIr because , the Lord there is young KrishNa

without MahA Lakshmi . He is however never without Her . Even In VaamanAvathAram ,

our Lord( BrahmachAri) hid Her under the deer skin attached to His Yaj~nOpaveetham .

At GuruvAyUr , He is hailed by the BhakthAs as Sriman NaarAyaNan and He

has all the LakshaNams of Sriman NaarAyaNan including a Lotus and Mace along

with Chakram and Sankhu . Srimath Azhagiya Singar has visited GuruvAyUr

for this reason twice because the Lord standing by the side of NaarAyaNa

PushkaraNi and being the Moortham of Sriman NaarAyaNan .

Page 36: List of 7 mathams (for NaamA 829): I checked the word document. After the sixth item, "Ithara Para dEvathais", the seventh one "The Lord with.... ParadEvathai" is numbered by me as item 7. Highlighting in the PDF version is missing. This is to be highlighted. Dear V.S. Mama: I have a question. I am not able to understand this vaadham - the 7th one "The Lord with ( without) His PirAtti alone is Para Devathai. I would be much grateful for the explanation.
