Amba/Sikhandin and Bhishma

Please, what is the deeper meaning of the Amba/Sikhandin and Bhishma

and their relationship to each other?

 

I read somewhere that it is a relationship of " profound love " , but I

find the capacity for experiencing and acting in great extremes by both

of them to be metaphorical for the extremes of the universe, maybe a

bit like a smaller version of Shiva and Parvati.
