Guest guest
SrI: Dear AasthikAs : I am happy to forward the input of Sriman R.Venkata KrishNan for our Lists . I agree with Sriman VenkatakrishNan's views. Many lives of girls have been ruined by these unsupportable beliefs , which have no validity . There are 27 Nakshathrams and it is unavoidable that a significant portion of the population are born under these Nakshathrams .To declare them as condemned at birth is not an acceptable practise . Many AchAryAs have been born under these "adverse " nakshathrams . If we do research , we can prove that there are lot of girl children born under these "adverse" nakshathrams , who go on and excel in life and are model wives . Please respect JyOthisham but do not succumb to superstitions ; The ancient rishis identify the auspicious and not so auspicious and recommend parihArams for the latter as procedures to be followed .We have to look at the whole oicture and not pieces. I am planning to record Nakshathra Ghanam ( Ghanam way of rendering the Vedic Salutations to the Nakshathrams soon ) and listening to that coupled with Surrender unto the sacred feet of the Lord (SaraNAgathy thru a sadAchAryan) will help overcome all these cruel pracises of discrimination because of accidents in times of births particularly for girl children .It will banish the anxieties for the parents as well . NamO NaarAyaNAya , V.Sadagopan - Ramanujam Venkata Krishnan vaideekam Monday, July 17, 2006 7:46 PM Re: [Vaideekam] Inauspicious nakshatrams I take the liberty to answer the question. There may be knoledgeble people out here in this group. Kindly correct me if i am wrong. The stars as such are not in aspecious as such. In the parashara hora shastra there is a mention about inaspecious birth and details the yoga and birth times that are considered inaspecious in terms of obtaining materialistic possessions or for the life expactancy. It has to be kept in mind that all the inaspeciousness is about the difficulties one would face during his life time. Remidies have been suggested by sage parashara himself for these kind of yogas and timing of birth. But i don't recall mention about nakshatras beeing inaspecious. God himself has taken birth in the nakshatras that are considered to be not so good, for example Rohini (Krishna Avatara), just to prove the point. To answere in terms of astrology, It is the planetory positions, and the matching of the horoscopes that would decide rather than the nakshatra alone. It is more due to mis information and social stigma that people consider this way. My personal experience - while dealing with horoscopes of people (Being astrologer by hobby), I come across this openion of people that, Astrology is considered as a extrapolation of past incidents and people start extrapolating the experience they have to all other future events. In my humble openion astrology does not work that way. Though we are ignorant of the the logic or the path through which sage parashara and other eminent scholors correlated the events, there is a nice and logical scientific approach in interpreting the results. To answere your question, It is superstitous to believe that one nakshatra is bad and other is good. You can find vedic verses like "Chitra Nakshatram Bhavati" in Ashwamedha portion of Yahur Brahmana. Butstill if something is bad it can not exist for long as God does not desire to create bad. He creates everything for our good as he is the Rakshaka. I do face that harship having daughter for marriage. While some say that star per se is not bad but a whole lot of other planetary position in both horoscopes should be seen, we come across many rejecting on the basis of stars. Rightly or wrongly the Kudumba Jothidam also says that if girls are born in Ayilam, Moolam, Jeyshta stars have the tag of in auspiciousnes attached to it. Is is correct? With regards,GJ
Guest guest
Respected Dr. Sadagopan swamin Your article is much welcome and we await the publishing of Ghanam for Nakshatras. Nothing would be a forcible argument except actual events in life. I will narrate only two instances in my family. My elder brother's daughter is born in 'Pooradam' and wags were loose in comment 'pooradam kazhuthil nooladathu' and marriage was getting unduly delayed. Then a nice boy phoo phoooed as horsocopes otherwise matched and she is in late forties happily married over 20 years. Similarly my brother in law's daughter in law is " moolam " and before marriage there were threatening warnings " Moolathin mamiyar moolaiyil " . By the grace of Sri Aandal, my brother in law is about to complete 72 years and is happy with two plus two grand sons from that daughter in law. Ultimately, I firmly believe it is our Lord's who saves us from any situation. Adiyen Srivlilliputtur Govindakrishnan Alagar Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls.
