An Appeal to You

It is my honor to invite your attention to

the 2006 Capital Campaign to address two

pressing needs of Sri Ranganatha Temple :

 

1. Purchase of living Quarters for the 2 Priests .

 

2. Roof Repair expenses and other needed fixings .

 

We need a total of $500,000 ( $250 K for each project ) .

Your contributions can be in the form of grants ,

interest free Loans for 2 Years or Stocks or Bonds .

 

You can also become Life Members ($1,116 ) and

encourage other Members of Your Family & Friends

to become Life Members , Benefactors ( $5,000 ) or

Patrons ($10,000) . All of your donations are 100%

Tax deductible . For donations at and above 1,166 $ ,

a 50 gram silver coin embossed with the beautiful

image of Sri Ranganayaki will be given to you for

worship at your homes . For Benefactors and Patrons ,

special poojaas will be organized at your homes or

at the temple by our priests .

Raising committee or Dr.Venkat Kanumalla or myself

to answer your questions and provide you more details on

these special poojaas that would become available to you .

 

1. Why Priest Quarters Now ?

Since the opening of the temple , the 2- 4 Priests and cook have lived

in the cramped basement area of the temple with not much privacy .

The Married priests could not bring their family here as a result.

As you all know , Most of the Hindu temples like the Pittsburgh

Temple have provided seperate quarters for the priests and their

families .Due to the pressure of paying down the temple debts

from the time of temple construction to now ( 2 Million Dollars to

~300 K$ today ) , we have been unable to assemble enough of

the needed funds for the oriest's quarters . The price of housing

has gone up in this area meanwhile and we need to take care of

this now to recruit and retain high quality priests . Our Current priests

are First Class in Bhagavath AarAdhanam and PourOhithyam skills

( Priestly duties) . These outstanding servants of the Lord

need your support .

 

Why the attention to the Roof Now ?

We had attended to the fixing of the roof few months back.

The severe winters and the harsh summers coupled with

huge rain storms have caused havoc to whatever repair we

have done . Those who have flat roofs at their places of

residence can appreciate the problems in protecting

the roof from leaks . Learning from our adverse

experience and backed up by competent Roofers using

appropriate materials to withstand these severe weather

conditions of the North Eastern Part of USA, we feel confident

that we can repair and seal the roof over the 8 Sannidhis and

the area between the VimAnam and the Sannidhis . We can

buy relief for the next 10 years .

 

We have a window of opportunity to address this urgent

problem before the 2006 winter season sets in . We can complete

this work before October 15 and breathe a little easy .

 

Who has supported the Temple in the Past ?

Many devotees from all corners of USA have donated funds

in the past generously ( Gifts and Interest free Loans). We have

paid off most of these loans and are prepared to pay off

the interest free loans over the next two years .Occasionally,

Overseas visitors to the temple have provided much valued

support based on their appreciation of the level of sanctity and

the authentic traditions that the Board maintains in running of

the day to day worship at the temple by eminently qualified priests .

We follow strictly the codes followed at the Srirangam Temple for

Lord Ranganatha and Ahobila Temple for Sri Lakshmi Narasimhan

and Lord VenkatEsa Temple at the Seven Hills ( Thirumala).

The supporters' perception is that Sri RanganAtha temple

at Pomona , NY is the best of its kind in USA as well as in India.
