Guest guest Posted May 1, 2007 Report Share Posted May 1, 2007 sloka12 yA nayAnaghaDHeethadha rasAyAh thanayA dhave sA gathA hi viyAtha hreesathapa na kila oonAbha Seetha, the daughter of the mother earth, who gives pure intellect through the study of sasthras to those who resort to her, went to the forest, grieved over the shameful act of Kaikeyi, boldly without losing her luster. yA (refers to Seetha,) the one who was nayAnagha dheethadha, giver (dhA)of intellect(DHee) purified by the sasthras(nayAnagha), and the daughter of the earth(rasA). dhavE -to the forest, (dhava) sA -that Seetha. gathA -went viyathA-bold hree means shame and sathApa means with anguish na kila oonabhA- not at all without(oona) lustre (bhA) Sloka in reverse bhAn alOki na pAthA sah hreethA ya vihithAgasA vedhayAnah thayA sAradhAtha DHeeghanayA anayA By Sathyabhama,who had deep wisdom and who was disgraced by the insult(of giving the flower to Rukmini), Krishna, the resplendent protector and the one who has Garuda as his vehicle and the giver of wealth was not even looked at. bhAn- one who is resplendent. na alOki- not looked at pAthA-protector. sAradhAtha-giver of wealth sah- he, Krishna. Ya -the one who, hreethA- felt ashamed (being slighted), vihithAgasa - by the slight done to her vedhayanah- one who has Garuda as his vehicle (yAna) garuda is called vedasvarupa (vEdhathmA vihagesvarah-chathusloki of Yamunacharya) thayA- by her, anaya-this Sathyabhama dheeghanayA- dhee means intellect,ghana is deep.the word means by her who has deep wisdom. sloka 13 rAgirADhuthigarvAdhAradhAhah mahasA haha yAn agAtha bharadhvAjam AyAsee dhamagAhinah Rama,the scorcher of enemies who are passionate wicked, arrogant without self control(rakshasas),by his prowess approached Bharadvaja and the sages who were self controlled, becoming tired by walking. rAgi- one with raga, passion. aDHuthi- violent, garva- arrogant (because of their power to torment), adha- unrestrained, dha means restraint.Ara means the collection of enemies(areeNAm samoohah). DhAhah is one who burns,mahasa by his tejas. Yan one who goes, agAtha means approached and AyAsee denotes one with AyAsa, fatigue. dhamagAhinah refers to the rshis like Bharadvaja.dhama is restraint and gahin means one who has fathomed restriaint, that is self- controlled. haha means alas! sloka on the reverse nO hi gAm adhaseeyAmAjath va Arabhatha gAh na ya iha sA Aha mahOdhAradhArvAgathiDhurA girA sathyabhama, who neither listened to the words of Krishna nor said anything to him, started speaking when Krishna said that he will undertake the responsibility of bringing the parijatha tree.
