Sribhasyam enthusiasts / students / experts.... (a survey)

Dear friends,

I am conducting a rough survey of people who are interested in Sribhasyam at different levels.

1. Once 44th HH Azhagiasingar told that there were only about 150 chatus shastra panditas ie. who knew bhagavadvisayam, gita bhasyam, sribhasyam, upanisad bhasyam ( i guess i am right regarding the selection of these 4 works... if not dont worry it is not the main point I am trying to make). I wonder how many such pandits exist today?

2. recently a good friend of mine asked me a question: One of the last instructions from Sri Ramanujacharya states that : 1st priority: if possible one should study Sribhasyam : 2nd priority: One should study the Alwar pasurams 3rd priority.....etc. the question is : why is Sribhasyam given the highest priority? is it because it was written by Sri Ramanujacharya? or is it because it is in Sanskrit? or is it because it is a logical work? or what is the real reason?... I could not answer the question satisfactorily.... Hence I asked him what was the answer. He said, " let me tell you a historic story. Once there was a great saint named Swami Narayan. He decided that his view was identical to Sri Ramanujacharya's and commanded his disciples to study the bhasyas of Sri Ramanujacharya in his work called Sikshapatri. After some years when he was about to leave his mortal coils, his students surrounded around him and said without him

they could not live and they would give up their lives. He warned that if some one does give give up his or her life, that person will completely disown them and they will have no relation with him whatsoever. They they asked " how can we bear this separation?". He said, " make a statue of me and I will leave my body and enter that statue. I will live there forever. You can always ask any thing you want with devotion in front of that statue of mine, I will answer you and always be with you. you dont have to fear or feel any sorrow". His disciples, even today visit this Swami Narayan samadhi statue in Gujarat and offer their prayers and communicate with their beloved Acharya.

Then this friend of mine continued: " do you know one thing. Sri Ramanuja's views are ever enshrined in this living book known as Sribhasyam. He has entered into this work Sribhasyam and is there for us for ever.

I just wanted to know how many people 1) make an effort to study Sribhasyam? 2) how many people have completed sribhasyam? 3) how many people also know intermediate level sanskrit and hence understand Sribhasyam in some good detail ?4) how many people are experts in Sribhasyam?

PLEASE NOTE... THESE ARE HONEST SINCERE QUESTIONS. I LIKE PEOPLE TO RESPOND SO THAT WE GET AN IDEA AND PEOPLE CAN FIND ENTHUSIASTS / EXPERTS UNDER WHOM THEY CAN LEARN..

HONESTLY, I DONT HAVE ANY OTHER AGENDA BEHIND THESE QUESTIONS. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO HURT OR FIND FAULT WITH ANYONE.
