Garuda tried to grab, graha, the nectar which was the food,bhaktha of Indra, suthraama and devas, and in the battle, kalahaviDhou that ensued Garuda shook his wings in fury and two or three of his feathers fell,dhvithraah paksha uthkshepaah and the wind arose from that , vipaksha kshapaNa sarabhasa, displaced the planets and they went astray from their usual movements of the zodiac, grahaaNaam aniyathavakra athichaaraah. The directions east and west unintelligible, vilulitha praagavaagaadhibhaedhah because of that since the Sun and the Moon from whom the directions are understood were not at all following their normal course. 22. thath thath prathyarThi saaraavaDhi vihitha mrshaa roshaganDho rushaanDhaih ekaH kreedan anekaih surapathisubhataih akshatho rakshathaath nah anyonyaabadDha lakshaapaharaNa vihitha amandha maathsaryathungaih angaireva svakeeyaih aham ahamikayaa maanitho vainatheyah May Garuda, who played with the fighting devas who were blind with fury, pretending a little anger, combating with many of them yet unharmed, whose limbs competed with each other in confiscating the nectar as though envious of each other, protect us. Garuda was playing with the devas, kreedan, who were blind with anger, rushaanDhaih , confronting singlehanded, ekah, the devas who were many, anekaih, showing anger, not real but assumed, now and then, vihithamrshaaroshaganDhah. His limbs were competing with each other, aham ahamikayaa, in taking the nectar away, apaharaNa, as though they were envious of one another, amandha maathsarya, each one of them having nectar as their goal, anyonya aabaddhak laksha.
