The ten slokas from this describe the conquest of serpents by Garuda. Garuda became angry at the serpents who enslaved his mother by deceit and as a result his eyebrows were crooked with anger, bhugnabhroobhrukuti, and his round eyes, chakrasha, rolled and his wings, bhramath amithagaruth, moved around the force of which agitated the earth and the heavens alike, kshobhithakshamaah anthariksha. .Seeing him angry at them the mighty serpents lost their vigour out of fear of his curved beak, vakrathunda, fierce teeth, krooradhamshtra, and sharp nails, kharatharanakhara.. Desika calls Garuda, Soureh syandhanendhra, the supreme vehicle of Lord Hari, who routed the army of Indra, sankrandhanaadhi prathibhataprthanaakrandhana, The army, prthanaa, of Indra, sankrandhana. The word used fro serpents is dhanthaSooka, poisonous fangs. 27. aryamNaa DhuryayolthragrasanabhayabhrthaasaanthvithoanoorubanDhaath kodhaNDajyaam jighrkshedhithi chakithaDhiyaa SankithaH sankareNa thalpe kalpetha maa the mathirithi hariNaa api aadhareNa anuneethaH paksheendhraH thraayathaam naH phaNaDharamahisheepathrabhangaapahaaree May Garuda, who made the Sun afraid that Garuda will swallow the snakes which formed the harness of his chariot but got confidence because of the association of Garuda with his charioteer Aruna, and who was suspected by Siva that Garuda might take the serpent which was his bow string and who was requested lovingly by Lord Hari not to come near his bed which was Adhisesha and who took of all the auspicious signs of the wives of the serpents, protect us. When Garuda started to destroy the serpents, Sungod , ary,amaa ,became fearful that he might aim for his harness, dHuryayokthr and Lord Siva was wary of his bowstring,kodhanDajyaa while Lord Hari asked Garuda not to lung, thalpe kalpetha maa for his bed!. Since by that time Garuda had become the vehicle of Narayana, Desika says that the Lord asked him with aadhaara, with affection! Pathrabhanga is the auspicious signs worn by the wives while husband is alive. Garuda is said to take away the pathrabhanga of the wives of the serpents, meaning that he destroyed their husbands.
