Guest guest
Thanks for sharing " rasaa " based explanation, which is deployed by scholars to increase the enjoyment of the audience. Now for the drier explanation - Maarghazhi gets its name from the star Mrigasirshaa (which occurs on or immediately after the month's Pournami). The name Dhanur maasa comes from Dhanur rasi - which the sun transits through (that is for an observer from earth, the constellation of Dhanus will be in background of sun in the sky). During this month, we are recommended to 1) wash/bath ourselves in cool water (kept overnight) 2) perform loving service to Lord before dawn 3) revel in tirupaavai verses/anubhavams Let the service to our Supreme Master grow. --regards vaideekam , " chitra_vidya " <chitra_vidya> wrote: > > > Soon it will be Dhanur Maasam. > The GhOsham of ThiruppAvai will be cleansing the air all around in > dhivya dEsams and private homes of BhakthAs .
